Gone for it but it doesn't look like you get the gift until you have paid £19.99 after the £1 trial is over.

I have just checked on their website using the account number printed on the magazine's packaging (and also on the confirmation email):I'm not sure whether they have tried to charge me, since I cancelled the DD.

I also cancelled the direct debit after receiving their email. Not had a magazine turn up though. Maybe they are just trying to tempt you with a freebie?!

Did you cancel the direct debit in your bank account?

yep, not happy at all. had the cancellation email and that the order wasn't processed. magazine arrived today so assume i have been charged. yes, it might only be a quid but that's besides the point. they send out a few speakers but how many people signed up and were supposedly cancelled, then not actually cancelled and who may then forget to cancel DD. smells like marketing BS to me. if i have been charged i'll be getting my quid back! ****

Yes, we know but not everyone here is about making profit however small or large. Whenever I see deals bought here on HUKD to resell on eBay, I have one rule, never buy from these chancers. Again, it's subject to availability. Good luck to you if you get one or buy multiple subscriptions.

Got the case, got the charger, charger being recalled due to possible fault and replaced, £20 voucher being given for inconvenience.

Although I briefly noted the charges on the counter, I didn't pay any attention to them, but since discovering that if you are with EE and text power to 365, they send an email to you with code, show it at store, then they give you the charger which when used, you swap for a newly charged one, and so it goes on, a free hire charger.

Claimed the charger. It comes with usb cable and is a combined torch. You have the option to either re-charge yourself or swap it for a fully charged one.

Unable to get a rook phone case. Some say it's too soon, whilst others say it will have to be through EE on-line. Pleasantly surprised how this phone picks up all the free wifi outlets in town.

Yes rikkk I will, but haven't been out yet today and might not get the chance till tomorrow, but as soon as I have more info, I will be back.

I bought one from EE yesterday for £39 plus £10 top-up which went on my w … I bought one from EE yesterday for £39 plus £10 top-up which went on my wife's PAYG because I owned my phone and had a SIM only contract with them getting 500 anytime mins/500 texts/100MB of data (which was never used as I didn't know what 100MB equated to, but was told, about 15 mins a day surfing) and an average monthly spend of £9.53.The idea is I am tempted to enter the smart phone era (am mid 70's). Once it is made known how to unlock the EE side of things, I will seek out a SIM only contract that will give say 500MB of data which I would feel safe using as I don't want to incu extra charges. Virgin do one for £8 I see.The internet has been turned off on the Rook so I don't use it accidentally, but am able to connect wirelessly to home set-up.It feels OK, I seem to be able to handle texting OK, am please with 5mega pixel camera especially as I can use it freely/easily and then send to my laptop once home. I suppose a case is next on the agenda.

How easy is it to unlock? Have you asked at any phone shops? If you're asking about cases get prices for the unlocking and let us know

I'd worry I might forget to cancel after the 3 months and end up having to pay for the rest of the year. Also once they've got your details you're likely to get spammed via SMS, email, or by whatever other means they can pester you. I've stopped buying these sorts of magazines now, I can get the same, and better info on-line with a bit of searching. Still, it's a good deal for those that would buy the magazine anyway.

Took out a similar deal a couple of years back - IIRC, it was something like 6 issues for £6.

Anyways, after the trial finished, I do what I always do which is to call the magazine, enquire what the cost is going to be for the next 6 months (or whatever the relevant time period is) and if it has gone up, cancel.

When I did this, I was told it was still the same price of 6 issues for £6.

All in all, they (inadvertently) kept me on this deal for 2yrs and it only ended a few weeks ago.

After "No-Phonak-Phones-Gate" they can take a run and jump!

I read Stuff once....thought it was OK until I read their "Recommended" section where they confidently assured the reader that it was worth spending at least £50 (figure may have been altered by my memory) on a HDMI cable because you would get a much better picture quality than a cheap one.

At that point I realised that the "journalists" writing for this magazine either have an IQ lower than a gorilla; are being paid to lie; or are so incompetent that they don't understand the concept of "digital". Whatever option you choose to believe, they should not be looked upon as a source of any reliable information.

So when they write a review of the latest smartphone and tell you it's the dog's danglies, just remember this. That same journalist can't tell the difference between digital and analogue.

Stuff magazine keep calling my mobile pestering me, prob to offer me a 'deal' like this. I don't even read magazines really.
