The drive ID can be set to whatever the manufacturer wants so it could easily be using fake/unbranded flash and controller chips. For £7-£8 it may be worth the risk but at this price you're better off with genuine Sandisk 8GB sticks available from Play and Amazon for around £14.

i wouldn't risk it. as charlie said, they might be fake, and i'm not too fond of imitations...

I bought an 8 gb one off e-bay that looks like these, for £11 inc P&P, and that was labeled Samsung.....!!
Its OK for storing pictures and recording video from my Technomate TM5400 c/usb Satellite Receiver, but will not accept/stor any Software Data.....
So I cannot update my Technomate Receiver with it.
It also crashes quite often.
