is this OCR software something I need? if so, sounds a good price.......
ink expensive... any cheap compatible ink for this?

5% off code doesn't work

Don't forget 3.5% quidco too

Tesco sell the same one instore or delivered for for £29.97

no, the tesco one is without this "Abbyy FineReader OCR software"......

Does anyone have this printer? I seen it in Tesco myself, but I'm always very wary of very cheap printers.

Does this thing hammer the cartridges or economical?

:)Well i just ordered and used code with free home delivery £28.49 ,can't be bad at that and possibly up to 5% through Quidco.

How dos this printer compare to the "][email protected] ? which is the better of the two ?
thanks

It's reasonable on cartridges (my sister has one) although with printer slight of hand, cheap printers are never really 'cheap' considering the cost of ink.

I'm rapidly going out-of-love with inkjets. I bought the Canon laser printer that was posted here about 6 months ago, cheap per copy, v fast, still on original toner and much better quality. I've a £200 all-in-one canon inkjet too which I really regret buying, wastes ink 'cleaning' takes ages to warm up and frequently has error messages as it doesn't like the stupid 'chip' system used on the cartridges.

Oh & IMHO PC World/DSG are a joke, they never get any of my money unless I have absolutely no other choice, so decent price but I'd buy it from Tesco.

How do you rate this printer with HP "][email protected]?

I use these in my Epson DX4050 and photos print out very good, not the cheapest but probably the best

and much better quality.

Much better print quality if printing text or basic graphics but for photo use they are pretty useless. As I never print photo's it's a laser all the way for me. =]

Lasers don't exactly have the fastest startup time either (definitely offset by the speed it can print a page though).

Selection of colour laser all-in-ones is limited which is annoying.Lasers don't exactly have the fastest startup time either (definitely offset by the speed it can print a page though).

Mine has a 5 second boot-up time, so not bad IMHO. The inject takes about 1minute -11/2 minutes, drives me mad when you're in a hurry and want to print quickly.

If you want a cheep printer for low volume usage then this is not a bad deal, but if your are looking to print out a lot of documents, then you might be better off with a laser as they are getting quite cheep. Ok lasers are not as good for photo printing, but it depends on what your main use will be, so its up to you - or you could get one of each so you have the best of both worlds

seems like a good deal to me as i dont do a lot of printing and my printers just packed up! So annoying not having a printer, its been bust for a couple of weeks and i havent got round to getting one yet, might give this one a go! Thanks, heat added!
