Cabin size

The other benefit to this case is that the frame containing the retractable handle is at the side of the suitcase - meaning that the packing surface inside is flat (i.e. there isn't the 2 bars from the handle going down the middle) - this helps prevent clothes getting creased.

I have been after a 19" Sub-0-G cabin suitcase for a long time, but not willing to pay £45!

I purchased 2 from Matalan last weekend (not available on their website). They are also sold in TJ Hughes for £30 too and were available online at TJ Hughes although the cabin size seems to be out of stock. However, as they have only just started to stock this again, I would imagine that they will become in-stock again online at some point.

The cabin size suitcase is currently on sale for £39 (reduced from £45) at Bags Etc:

Matalan and TJ Hughes ALSO sell the larger luggage:

23" £35.95 (RRP £45) - Size: 58cm x 39cm x 20.5cm
26" £39.95 (RRP £59.50) - Size: 67cm x 45cm x 23.5cm
30" £45.95 (RRP £59.50) - Size: 77cm x 50cm x 26.5cm

However, online reviews seem to question the quality of the material holding up to conveyor belts and baggage handlers! Obviously, for cabin size - this isn't an issue...

Fantastic product & I'm really happy with my purchase - hope this is of use to somebody!!

Link?
It might be the same size, BUT I bet it's 3Kg - 4Kg in weight. The whole point of this case is that it is LIGHT, so you can take more stuff with you - particularly on airlines that have a weight restriction on hand luggage.
This case is SO light, it can be picked up with 1 finger when empty.
Obviously, there are cheaper cases out there, but you've missed the point in that 1) they WILL be heavier and 2) this is the cheapest Sub-0-G price.....

Hi Pete, I saw the Dunlop one on Saturday reduced from £14.99 to £7.99. The label said the weight was 3.1Kg.

The Sub-0-G is only 1.9Kg.

I suppose it's what people want at the end of the day. I wanted the lightest possible suitcase, and I got it at only £30 when it sells in most other places for £45.

You Pays your money and takes your choice...

the one i say in matalan looked like it was made of paper, one trip and you would have to throw it away after the baggage handlers have had their way with it

yes, true - and I stated that in the post. However, for HAND luggage - there would only be you handling it not baggage handlers or conveyor belts so it will be fine....

I have started to do a lot of traveling recently. I bought a sub 0 g suitcase last year when I did a bit of traveling. After 35 international flights I only needed to tighten the legs. The handles are like new! I desperately want another sub 0 g suitcase now that I am in China. One that I can use for short visits to factories. Schlepping 1KG less makes a HUGE difference on your back and neck when you are schlepping around from location to location.

If anyone can find another deal on sub 0 g suitcases please post them!
