I used to like these but the poached egg is vile... even worse than a McDonald's egg... it has the texture of a 5p carrier bag

I

want

this.

Weird at my store it has already started!

Aren't poached eggs supposed to have a gooey yolk?

I tried this last week. It was disgusting! best part was the cheese.

Stick to McMuffins if you need a dirty breakfast

Yes I tried it last week too - it was revolting. how can you possibly pre poach an egg then warm it up in an oven. I could have soled my shoes with it

It's a matter of preference, poaching only refers to the method of cooking, not how firm the yolk is

Most hotels and restaurants poach eggs in the morning and plunge them into iced water ready to warm up later.

Wetherspoons buy in their eggs pre-poached - which is why they won't usually let you swap a fried egg for a poached egg for your breakfast (poached cost them more) because they're not just a raw egg cracked onto a hot plate like the fried eggs.

I can't imagine these being very nice though - to me a poached egg *has* to be runny. I don't even like the fact that McDonald's ones have a hard yolk, but I guess they're paranoid about food poisoning or something.

sounds disgusting

These are £2.50... Is this 99p offer with a voucher? X thanks

Ice lands do their own copy of the mc muffin for £1 (egg, sausage + buns), rather tasty for a microwaveable snack.

This has been running for a while now. Its not national wide, available at selected locations, London not being one of them.

Its been posted already and a list of those participating given too.

Ah OK. Cause it's not in Scottish stores but they are giving out vouchers for this at 99p but without the voucher it's £2.50. Thanks

The poached eggs are bought in frozen then defrosted....

Any chance these are going in Bristol?

I can stomach a Subway breakfast, but made the mistake of trying their new poached eggs the other week. Would recommend staying well clear.

Best advice for a Subway breakfast, don't forget they still serve the full daytime menu, even when they first open at 7am.

I would take the poached egg out. From what I can tell from the picture you get the sausage and bacon? for 99p ain't bad surely?

Same here! Went into this deal thinking I need that in ma belleyy!!! but now I actually feel a bit sick from just reading the reviewsoO

For 99p you really can't complain too much what you get... Might have to try one!

My store had this available this morning the egg is dreadful, the omelette thing was much better.

Had one last week as mentioned the poached egg is awful, preferred the scrambled egg they did

Surprisingly, so far, no mention of subway serving halal meat which is quite common in threads like this.

More junk food that will make you one step closer to a heart attack. Even if it were free I would pass.

BK,MC,KFC,Pizza Hut & Subway. 220 Million obese Americans can't be wrong.

99p for a breakfast seems like a good deal at first, but usually the quality of the stuff isn't great. I've found the same with Greggs omelette/egg in their bacon rolls - it tastes like a soggy dishcloth. Subway are OK for lunches but I've found their breakfasts pretty unappealing so far.

We need some better choices in the UK to be honest. Coffee shop paninis are always cardboardy and expensive for what they are. McDonald's is pretty tasty but just so greasy. Would be cool to see a chain pop up that does fresh pancakes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches and does it well.

oh and when i got mine they chopped the egg in half, picture clearly shows 2 eggs

You can have healthy options at Subway though unlike the other brands you mentioned.

I believe that they all offer healthy options, fatties just don't buy them.

I actually found the new poached egg really good

No, it's one egg cut in half...

I don't know what everyone else was having but I love these. Perhaps it depends on the branch since the only time I didn't have it from a Manchester branch it tasted a bit dry.

The difference between that image and post 28 is incredible
