I won't touch subway offers with a barge pole. I'm London based and I've tried to claim Metro vouchers TWICE before and literally visited threesubways each time and they just fob you off and say they won't accept the voucher. Even checked the participating stores online; they weren't having it.

Absolute joke and a total waste of time. It's just a con to get you into the store.

Subway are notorious for not acceptiong genuine vouchers. Thats why I dont touch them with a bargepole. For those seeking to get slight revenge. You can open a subway account and you get 250pts, enough for 1x snack or 2x hot drinks, free. Its one per email so you can go as crazy as you want.
Good luck getting them to honour this, As they’re all franchises you’ll get the standard “we’re not participating in that offer” response.
Check before ordering.
Just order the sandwich first, then when it comes to pay give them the voucher. If they refuse, you just tell them you either pay using the voucher or you don't want the sandwich. I have walked away on at least one occasion, their loss.

Can you print and take in?
Sorry not in physical edition in Manchester
Can you just show
The digital
Version to the counter or not ???
Small print on the voucher says it's only valid for participating stores in Greater London
Cold, is always for the London area

Yep. North/South divide again!

Probably cheaper to start with in the north anyway. £3.79 for their meal is OK but I wouldn't be surprised if Subway stores outside of London already offer a meal for around that price.

Nope! Same price in the North believe it or not.
Does anyone know if you can just pay for extra toppings, or does wanting extra toppings invalidates the vouchers?

The voucher says "Not valid for double meat, double cheese or any other extras"

Did you speak to a manager? Seems absurd that they would just dismiss you like that

I have been told no, by their manager, they always hide behind the "were a franchise".

Wow! There are some incredibly expensive subway stores in London (although most of those expensive ones won't be on the participating list for the vouchers anyway). I've seen a lot where a sandwich alone can be £4.

Mate its impossible to get them to accept the genuine paper voucher let alone an internet print out

As Jinsickk said, they just say "we're a franchise". Useless.
In West of Scotland you routinely get vouchers for £3.50 for a 6 inch meal deal/£5 for a foot long meal deal/£3 for any salad meal deal/£7.00 eat for two 6 inch meal deal etc. Accepted anywhere I've tried. Works with the regular vouchercodes student offer, snap my eats, shoppix etc plus use your sub card for extra points and cash back credit card...okay I clearly think about this too much.

Ah I see. They should have a pretty simple system to track the ones who used a voucher and get "reimbursed" by head office though. Like with the eBay code deals - it's not the private seller whi has to take the 10%-15% discount, it's eBay itself.
North, south divide
Subway staff have such a poor understanding of dietary requirements. I asked if a dish had nuts. I was assured 'no nut'. When I found one and pointed it out, the chap shrugged and replies 'just little nut'. They truly don't care.

What dish did you find a nut in? As far as I know the only thing they have are the cookies?

Metro should stop advertising this rubbish as most of these Subway don't accept this voucher..same answer every time ..we are franchise.

fully support this. i also walk away rather than pay over the odds when i have a valid voucher they wont accept.

Totally agree, and if you tweet them they say they'll talk to them - they won't, they are franchises and can ignore corporate policy

This was the manager telling me no
The last subway offer on the app for a "free wrap" had me go to 4 different stores (two near home, two near work) and ALL 4 had "broken" subcard readers for the duration of the offer and then the machines magically worked again on the day the offer finished. When asked directly the staff just smirked.

Gone are the days of £2 sub of the day, £5 foot long and drink deals and a decent service, at least in my local franchises.
Avoid the new chilli bread. Falls apart. Also was expecting a mild chilli taste but got more than i bargained for!
Luckily never had a problem with these vouchers, always accepted them...
was on the tube saw a lot of Metro and started to rip off the vouchers
Thanks

I did that with the free wrap offer they didn’t honour, ordered, watched it being made, came to pay “sorry were not participating in that offer” so I walked out. Like you said their loss

I reported them to the ASA for that advert. Literally no subways were “participating in the offer” despite SubwayUK on Twitter saying all stores should accept the voucher. The twitterati were up in arms as they say

I managed to use that one surprisingly easily, not a London Subway though. I agree with all the sentiments about the difficulty of using vouchers though!
