Beat a £61 Chanel fragrance in a survey a couple of years back & now half price for this weekend only at Lidl. If you're not snobby then this is a great bargain express.co.uk/new…ent

The smell particularly is not my kind of perfume but i bought some and tried it and got many a compliment wearing it. Though its fun to see people faces when you tell them its a £4 bottle of perfume from lidl, especially to my perfume loving friend who only wears the expensive brands.

Voted cold as it's only £1.99 and I want to spend £61

It's not always about the actual scent. Sillage, projection, and longevity matter a lot (which wouldn't have been part of the test).
That said, for £1.99 you can put twice as much on a few times a day and still smell better than Chanel for longer while still saving some money (unless you want to wear this stuff every day for Months, of course).

Are any of the other man or women's on offer also?

I wear this and someone asked me if I was wearing Gucci rush the other day. Their facw was a picture when I told them its from lidls.

I love this, everyone always comments how nice it smells on me. definately stocking up this weekend

I can't find this deal anywhere in Lidl's website. Can you please let me know how you found about this ?

I cant find it either. Can you post a link to the offer please?

I wasn't being serious. It's a good deal if that's your thing.

You have got to wonder though, what kind of ingredients go into a scent that retails for £1.99.

Will the smell suit men?

I agree that there is likely to be a decent sized markup on brand name scents however, I sincerely doubt a bottle of Chanel No.5 cost £1.99 to make. Indeed, this article thisismoney.co.uk/mon…tml indicated that with perfume - you get what you pay for.

I actually deliver Lidl leaflets (in Exeter) and the offer is definitely on - printed on the back page of the leaflet - Half Price Weekend Offers, 11.05.13 & 12.05.13 only.

Dude - if it smells like silage - I'm out!!

I won't argue if this perfume is good or not, or better than Chanel. With £2 you can't buy a deodorant these days (unless you are a HUKDer). But why the added sensationalism? Better than Chanel? Who says that? Daily Express? I did a search on their website, using the term 'LIDL', returned 44 results. Yes, those guys at Express have written 44 articled regarding directly or indirectly LIDL and ALDI. FFS with the paid for journalism!
Or maybe the Perfumers Guild? A search returned an online shop, not an institute.
''The test was carried out on a panel of 150 women by an independent expert.'' - Guess what? The independent expert is not named once in the article.

Hahaha, calm down, deep breaths. Good rant though...

I used this many times and always been completemented- people always think its the expensive brand!
This parfum was tested on Superscrimpers (channel 4) as well an it did score better on a blind test and lasted almost as long as the expensive branded one.

PS- its not suitable for man- its fruity and sweet smelling, very feminine.

I

I bought X Bolt from Lidl at the weekend. This is the men's fragrance, very similar to Boss Bottled. My wife even thought I was wearing the Boss. The Telegraph wrote about X Bolt last year.

wow better than chanel ... so is my dogs f*rts. I think I can remember the smell , it mus be at least 20 years since I last smelt somebody wearing it . NOT a good comparison

Thanks for nothing OP. Now my missus will notice that deal and she will stock up for next year.

My wife, daughter, and (future) daughter-in-law all love this perfume and have said they get so many compliments when wearing it.
I really like it too (on females, not to wear myself oO )

My husband works at lidl he says is defo on offer, he is getting me 2 bottles to try, he has smelt it and says its lovely.

Went and bought this today. Not to bad for £1.99 not a great perfume but cant complain for the price of it.
It was a max of two bottles per customer. They only had around 20 bottles of it in my nearest store.

I'm a man and when I wear it the women always comment on how much they love it...;) it's like wearing Brut 33 in the 70's!!

Just been to Lidl in Crawley and they had loads of it - 6 bottles per customer!

Went and got three bottles today to give to a few people.

Purchased 2x Suddenly and 1x X-Bolt today. An utter bargain. Done a blind test on the daughters and they were easily fooled into thinking it was the expensive stuff. Great for everyday use, even when back up to £3.99

I wasn't sure if it was perhaps too heavy for use as a day perfume? Maybe better for evening wear?
