This grill comes with all the smokeless and minimal waiting benefits of the Lotus Grill, Kool Grill etc with one important addition, it has a cast iron grilling surface which seal & sear whilst letting the charcoal flavour through. It's also way cheaper than the market leader, Lotus.

Here's a link with a detailed description

Here's the blurb from the seller website:

"The B&Co Alfresco Smokeless Barbecue Grill is the next innovative product to enhance your charcoal cooking experience. Ready to cook for up to 6 people in around 5 minutes, the Alfresco Grill offers all of the great taste and flavour of outdoor, charcoal cooking, but without any of the traditional barbecue waiting times."

Not sure about 6 people though

I definitely need one in my life and didn't know it until now!
the surface is 32 X 34 CM, How exactly you barbecue for 6 on this size is worth a thought.

I did mention that in the description. Maybe 6 juicy fillet steaks??
I didn’t get how it gets ready to cook in 5 minutes ? Will it light up the charcoal for you ?

5 mins is probably a bit optimistic. You use smallish pieces of charcoal in a little mesh furnace. There's a shallow dish which you fill with lighter gel, light the gel, place the furnace on top and slowly ramp up the battery powered fan. Soon gets things going bit like a fan assisted BBQ chimney. This gel is ethanol based so less chemical than paraffin based gels but does have a taste aversion ingredient to stop people trying to make moonshine from it! Hand sanitiser gel also works very well provided it is ethanol based.

I see, thanks for the explanation, I googled and found similar product works the same way. so it's the burning lighter gel with a blowing fan that make the magic. I was wondering how the hell some AA batteries could light up the charcoal, if it does i would definitely buy one just to witness such technology.
Have the lotus grill. 5 minutes start up time is accurate, however cooking time for me is only about 15 minutes and the heat seems to be way more in the centre and it's barely enough round the edges.

Still cooks very well for 1-2 people. Not something I'd use when you have guests.

Also, beware that although these are smokeless, they do eat up all the oxygen and set of the CO2 alarms so I don't recommend doing them inside.

Forgot to mention that I have heard that this lotus grill clone is decent (and only £50)

Yeah I already posted that one but doesn't have the cast iron cooking plate. Went to about 280 degrees. Even cheaper versions on Amazon than elsewhere but this seems a bit better quality. Usually you have to pay a bit more for a cast iron cooking surface than a chromed grill wire in the world of BBQ's.

I think the cast iron plate on this diffuses the heat better than the lotus grill so more uniform heat distribution. I take it by CO2 alarms you mean Carbon Monoxide? I would never use any BBQ indoors, not even in a tent. People have died doing just that.

Yeah meant Carbon Monoxide not Dioxide! Some reviewers for lotus grill at the time of when I bought it were saying how great they were indoors and you could set it up in middle of dining table!!!

Just making sure others are aware to not do that

These cheap companies need to start selling accessories separately... Some of the lotus grill accessories cost more than the already expensive grill!!
Anyone recommend the best type of charcoal to use with these? Do you need the lighter gel as well or can you use a chimney starter to light the charcoal and then transfer over?
