Careful if you're a tradesman. Had absolute hell with this thing, with sumup witholding money even though invoices were sent and everything else they requested. Their reasoning was that my transaction amounts varied from £50 to £2.5k and it was weird. Nothing unusual about it being a plumber, with all invoices to prove. After a month of them holding my money and going around in circles I left a simple truspilot review. Very quickly they sent me my money and fee free offer for my next transaction. I dearnt take them up on it!
Been using one of these for the past year and a bit, works very well payments received quickly and one of if not the lowest fees for using, highly recommend this

You need to create a merchant account and meet their criteria.

If in doubt check the sumup website before you buy from Ryman.

I just enter details and set it up as a private user, I did question the issue but before they came back to me I'd done it.
Don't think I entered a company name and 3 days later the coin is in the bank.
I got one as I've a garage to clear and the thought best give card option then I have a record of who's been to get stuff and if I got another un welcome visit afterwards.
Wow that’s a great price.

So no terminal charge of £25 odd pounds per month!? Interesting! This could save a fortune!
How does this submit transactions to merchant, via the tel line?

Correct. No terminal charge, or BB line rental!!!

Connects to a phone/tablet running the app for stock reports and then uses that connection 3G/4G/5G/WiFi to complete the transaction.

They do see a standalone pre installed SIM card version direct from SumUp.

The app is really easy to use, though I am a Beta tester so may have extra features.

Can have multiple log ins for managers/staff/supervisor for refunds etc and accountability.

app supports product categories and multi drop down options.

The machine is from them direct and costs more than the £9.99 base version but the SIM is in built with no additional charges.

Reports - whilst you can't directly build 'in-stock' levels through the app you can log in to the website SumUp.me and see what's being selling from all categories. Through I'm told this feature is set to improve so may include stock reporting in the future.

Eh clothing should show garment, then colour then size
Coffee could show latte, vanilla, soya etc allowing you to see if a product is worth the space it occupies/is it trending enough.

They send monthly transaction/VAT invoices for merchant fees to so easy to keep track of income.

They offer an entire POS with cash draw etc too if that's what you're looking for.

Depends on what you are selling and where. For me it's been a life saver, and money saver. You can also run multiple machines off one merchant fee and have the app installed across a few different devices with users able to log on and connect to the terminal using Bluetooth. So if you have more than one location it could save you even more than one card terminal fee from Worldpay etc.

Your issue there may be phone payments.

But...you can give a machine to any drivers you have!

I have one near me that has one in the shop, one in the car!

Wow, in the car too!
No, I don’t take phone payments or delivery payments, cash is fine.
Have reserved 2 for pick up in my local store.

FYI, I rang the company (actually the FAQ's are pretty good & informative).
I asked the minimum age for a user which needs to be 18+ years ..my daughter is 15 but it would be handy for her small business... so it could be registered to me for her use (parental supervision so to speak).

secondly "charities" (scout groups etc using it for fund raising, fete use, sunday car boot stalls etc) ..I was advised to apply with the charity registration for the group & all should be fine, ..their exceptions are for Not for profit type things of which scouting etc isn't .

Hope that helps someone.
