Ordered. Using a raspberry pi at the min to be honest it's too slow let's see how this acts as its 3 times faster cpu and double the ram.

Is this the one HERE?

cold. Android XMBC boxes are all over the eBay. A Quad-core with 2gigs of ram should set you back about £35-£40

Does anyone own one? Interested to know how fast the internal storage is for file scraping & refreshing. I have to use USB 3 on my revo and even then it stutters sometimes..

Sumvision have been at this game for a while, a £10 premium isn't all that bad is it?

Does anyone know how I can send files to the hard drive attached to this wirelessly from my laptop?

I bought this the other day and I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to do it!

Thanks for any help

Gmail yourself for files <25meg. Otherwise share the laptop folder and pull them to the android device with ES File Explorer.

the boxes on ebay are around £35/40 for quad c and 2 gb ram, if you look for them, but they ussually dont come xbmc and updater pre installed. it is a ball ache updating the add onns manualy but there is a good app called AV Stream, this dose all the work for you, costs a fiver on the playstore but if you google aptoide and get it from there you can get it for free ! ;-) i didnt tell you that ;-) enjoy !

and **** knows what chipset you get. These Cyclone X4 (amoung others) are AMlogic (S805) which is the best supported for video playback. now widely under £50. only downside i can see is not enough remote buttons, you'll probably want to plug in a keyboard/mouse/airmouse etc.

can confirm the remote included is not good. the main issue is it's IR meaning line of sight issues, and it takes CR2025 batteries (why not at least the common CR2032?!). I've just ordered two 2.4Ghz keyboard/mouse remotes from Amazon to hopefully sort this, but they're £10-£15. My wired microsoft USB keyboard which works fine on older Android box doesn't work on this for no reason i can see, but the Airmouse off my old box works fine..

About this box vs. the M3 - this is S805, they are S802.
edit: my bad, the MXQ is also S805 and has bluetooth i think maybe some other things.
e.g. amazon.co.uk/MXQ…Q5E

S805 hardware H265 decoding but NOT 4k (1080p max), the S802 doesn't have hardware H265 but does 4k. Also, the 805 has Gigabit ethernet, but 100 on the 802.
personally, i would say the H265 is more useful in the next few years than 4k for streaming content as it's hard even to find 1080p or when you do, to get the bandwidth. YMMV.
cnx-software.com/201…12/
the S802 is faster though.
for best of all (except maybe power consumption), you need S812.

So this runs cooler and should be more stable (reports of overheating on S802 which you could probably fix yourself).

It is NOT rooted, but is rootable.
freaktab.com/sho…l=1

I can see S812 boxes for around £10 more i.e. £58 approx. may be better deal actually, if they are stable.

one more thing, the Sumvision doesn't seem to have bluetooth. you could probably add a dongle. it also only has 2 USB ports. wireless works well though, i wasn't really expecting to get 9MB/s without external antennae.
this is turning into a review..

This gets Antutu score of 17,000 vs 5,000 on my old M3 box so that's nice But would i recommend, not sure, there's lots of boxes around and some are pre-rooted with better remotes..
