No HD support.

Not really worth it, no HD or DTS support.

Buy the Sumvision Micro 2 for £28 and the extra £17 on HDD.

Sumvision have abysmal build quality / reliability. My divx player stopped working after 6 months.

This deal looks sweet - just shame about the .mkv.

Are you able to give me a link to this, had a quick browse but couldnt find the £28 one - only the £32.68 scan one. Also what £17 HDD is that? Thanks mate

Poor company, poor media player. No HD, or MKV. Spend extra and enjoy the extra quality.

I agree with the above comment ... I recently purchased a WD HD TV Live and have it connected up over my network to a 2TB NAS drive which I stream HD Video from ...

Works Brilliantly and the quality is amazing!

BEWARE!
I don't know anything about Misco.
Only buy this if Misco have a good reputation as Sumvision guarantees are worthless!

Does anyone know what outputs are on this and how they work? It says AV and USB. Are both of these usable for music? I want to connect this to a USB DAC that will then feed in to an Amp. Perfect for all of your music.

a steal with the 500GB drive. Hot. Cheers

Its a shame there is no hdmi, would have gone for this otherwise

I have a sumvision DVD player with USB input. Never let me down, had it two years and its going strong with plenty of use. Some of you may have been unfortunate but these generally aren't bad.

no MKV support - shame

Have had this same player for just over 2 years now, used pretty much every day for quite a bit of time, and never had a problem at all. Sure no HD on this model, but I still don't have any complaints with the picture on my TV.

Awful reviews. Cold

not for me

The model you wanna go for with all the bells and whistles is the Sumvision Cyclone II MKV. This model is dearer has HD, DTS plays MKV files and takes all kinds of drives. I've seen it retailing on the net for £170 + including HDD. Enclosure alone b/w £60-£70.

Misco is part one of the largest international wholesalers/distributors of electronic components to businesses, so no worries there

I would not buy! I have had one for over a year and the device has never really functioned properly, and i am not the only one. Just search for cyclone problems on the internet and you will know. The quality of the device and GUI is not great, playback can be out of sync, and there is big problem with the device being able to read the files you place in folders. If i put more than 100GB of media on the device cant handle it and just shuts keeps restarting itself every time. Would not recommend.

No MKV support either.

As few people suggested, if you already have an external hdd, getting cyclone media player 2 for around £30+ is a better idea. It plays mkv and almost anything else you throw at it. If you are looking for something that not only works but looks expensive as well, this is not the device for you (fiddly remote, not shiny enough ;-) ). Read reviews on Amazon.

So what do people recommend then, need a player with build in HDD to watch some home movies if you know what I mean
