good price for a decent DVD upscaler using google checkout for newbies(which runs out later today). Aria have a similar unit that could be cheaper if they have google checkout and im sure its a different unit.

just found the other thread, its a totally different type of player

I tried one of these last month and sent it back as it had a problem pixelating discs (ritek / cmc ) - also playback from the card slot juttered like hell. Picture quality through HDMI upscaled was practically the same as my scarted dvd player too.

If you want Divx then you probably torrent movies. I upgraded to an Apple TV and never looked back. H.264 rips are easy to find and better quality.

Transformers 720p HD mp4 will be playing in my house tonight.

I ordered one of these last week, hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow and i'll be able to report back.

I'm waiting for this:

Hi Sparc
I am a recent downloader of torrent movies and was wondering what is H.264?
Would appreciate any help:thumbsup:

if this is the Lynx model, then its the same as the Aria one, which I bought two weeks ago. Must say Ive been mighty pleased with it so far!!! Only minor gripe is the build quality of the remote, a bit kludgy, but I got it to play divx files and its been great, no probs.
YMMV

:-D

"just got this one and only realised when I got opened the package that it was a Lynx model, not the Phoenix."

Maybe we should be cautious.

Looks a good piece of kit at a great price. Some reviews state that a converter is required as it is delivered from France - is this definitely the case?

No coffee so probably no tea either

In reviews it states
Sure - there's maybe technically better machines out there...

Yes - It doesn't come with a HDMI lead... (SHOCK HORROR !!!!)

Damm - It doesn't make me coffee when I wake...

Sorry HTH

My experience of cheap upscaling and DivX playing DVD players.. they're rubbish and not worth the electronics they're made of. Getting an Oppo would be a sounder purchase, or an Apple TV if you're wanting the functionality.

I have given up on these cheap divx players and have now converted our old chipped xbox into a media player, connected to the pc via patch cable works a treat

saving up to replace the retail 8gb hdd with something bigger.

Can anyone confirm which model this is, please?

I have 2 Targa DivX players and a Philips 3480 DVDR which all play DivX files fine. The first ones cost £17 and the latter £80 (it records too, and has a USB port) I would gladly recommend either model.

I missed delivery of mine, picking it up tomorrow night

I ordered one just before seeing this thread, its just been delivered and is the Lynx model if that helps anyone.
