Capabilities look promising, had a sumvision sata enclosure, still working today, although when it comes to devices like this you need heavy investment in software which I'd want people to testify too before buying.

Shame it doesn't have freeview HD tuners. Also I always assumed that sumvision was some cheapo chinese brand which would be at odds with supporting iplayer etc. I thought we'd only see that sort of support once the canvas spec had been defined and everyone had a level(ish) playing field.

Interesting device though and definitely moving in the right direction.

when it says hd freeview, does that means freesat, ie:bbc hd

No it means its got Freeview SD tuners but can play HD media from other sources.

The use of the word "Freeview" next to "HD" might have some people believe this is DVB-T2 (HD freeview) when i believe it is only DVB-T (standard freeview) Hope no one buys it on the back of that ... Though it looks decent fro what it is

Ebuyer's spec list says DVB-T... if that's correct then Freeview HD it ain't, just like all the old media tuners sold as HD ready before, no good in the UK.

Yes just basically a Freeview PVR that will playback HD Media files like MKV, MP4 etc. - could be handy for some I guess.;-)

You will of course have to factor in the price of adding either an internal or external hard drive as well.

I thought it was HD freeview? In the description it says 'Built-in Twin HD freeview tuner with 1080p ready recorder'

Maybe they meant to put DVB-T2 and just missed the 2 out of DVB-T:?

To be honest, it looks like they are intentionally trying to mislead people (Sumvision that is, not ebuyer as they obviously just copy/pasted the info provided from manufacturer).

They have now reduced this to £119.98:thumbsup:

Even if it isn't full HD I assume this will upscale Freeview so is there a big difference between full HD and upscaling?
