Prefer Meridian as it’s 100% peanuts & nothing else,

Sun Pat
Ingredients
Peanuts 94%,
Stabiliser: E471,
Cane Sugar,
Peanut Oil 1%,
Sea Salt.
Get a big blob of it and push it up on the roof of your mouth. Its a nightmare getting it off.

Tesco do a 100% nuts version now which I find much nicer than Meridian. Cheaper too.

The Tesco one is £1.50 for 280g
Tesco used to do a honey roasted peanut butter that was amazing. Nothing's compared to that in my eyes since, can't find anything close to it anywhere
I second tesco peanut butter. Very tasty, the texture is runny and rich unlike sunpat.
I like my unhealthy 65p peanut butter made with only 87% peanuts.

They've very inconsistent in quality I've had some incredibly thick while others have been like my stool after a bad vindaloo...

No it means it doesn't have added ingredients that stiffens it up

really I never knew that, can you still put it on toast or is it too runny?
Edit. Dont worry, I just looked it up and it contains palm oil so its a definite no from me.

There are several other peanut butters for similar price.
feel free to buy one with no added sugar.
taster just as good,maybe better

I think it's to do with the oil to peanut mix. The oil can separate out and will after many months of sitting, leaving dry hard ground peanut and a layer of oil. You can mix them together again and at the start when there's a lot of oil it's still super runny while the peanut section is solid, keep mixing and it eventually evens out.

Someone posted the ingredients list earlier, sugar and salt do practically nothing to stiffen up a mixture. E471 is an emulsifier to stop the oil separating as easily.

I found them terrible, each to his own. The colour itself is off-putting

Meridian is much better imo
Sunpat doesn't appear on the list of Ethical peanut butters for a reason, because E471 may contain either Palm Oil or pig fat.

Each to their own, but I wouldn't eat it.
I alternate between Meridian & Myprotein. Once you've had it with the skins on there's no going back
asda smart price best price & taste

Says is suitable for vegans.. but have to agree there are better options without added sugar.
