Good price for what it is, assuming buyer is OK with far-east supplier, and Gearbest. Didn't attract much heat last week when hotukdeals.com/dea…325.
Gearbest are fine. Never had an issue with them

To stream directly from net you probably need absolute minimum 2Mbps assuming the source was highly compressed and no greater than SD. Netflix recommends 3Mbps for SD and 5Mbps for HD, and that assumes all of the bandwidth is dedicated to the video stream and not being compromised by other users on same network checking email, surfing etc. No problem of course to download content at your leisure and playback at your convenience at a later date. If you looked to download x265/HEVC content then you should be able to locate "reasonable" quality 720p movie-length video at say 0.5GB+ filesize and similar 1080p at 1-1.5GB+; double all filesizes if you download less-efficient x264 content. If you have a particularly large TV or view content unusually close to any playback screen you may want to further increase those suggested filesizes to retain any degree of arbitrary acceptable quality.

basically if you can stream YouTube hd on your phone or tablet on your Wi-Fi this should be fine

Thanks, I'll do a test but I've got a feeling it's around 2mbps. I didn't realise you can save things off these, I don't actually know what sort of things I can watch on one but I've got a 50" 4k TV so think I'll order one and a big HD

To clarify: this item is basically an Android tablet without a screen. If you can download and save content on an Android tablet, you will be able to do it on the box. The main consideration is what source is going to provide the content. Amazon Prime video allows you to download video in various resolutions, other streaming sites may offer similar, and of course there are vast numbers of questionable sources.
arrived today well pleased
