This has never been £38.99
I have been using this on my 1976 Ford Capri 3.0 V6 - and it has been useless; the battery is still flat and now I'll be late for work.

Didn't think it was to bad price in comparison with others and seems to have good reviews

Ignore those reviews, they have all received one of these for 99p in return for a review. I’ve reached the top 500 on Amazon for reviews and I get at least 4 or 5 requests a day from Chinese based companies to review products like this. If you’re after a charger like this look for someone who has owned one more than a week or two

Strange also how the reviewers have never taken the time to review anything else, stinks of fake to me.

Thanks for posting but Im inclined to agree with everyone - this looks like a risky product to purchase - try using reviewmeta or fakespot to see which items have had fake reviews on them. Also try using camelscamelscamels to see the real price history of an item rather than inflated RRPs

Yeah, getting pretty sick of Amazon just letting companies claim whatever RRP they like to make it seem like a good deal.

Yeah more and more you see reviewers say that they received a product cheap in exchange for a review.

How did you get into the top 500? Lots of work I presume? What happens - lots of freebies?

I just leave honest reviews, good and bad, I think I made the top 500 when I’d reached 80 reviews and climbed slowly since. It isn’t about the amount of reviews, it is more the helpfulness, those giving you a thumbs up.

I honestly have several freebie offers a day. Sometimes a promotion link for 99p other times a request to buy it and receive a full refund via PayPal. 90% of the time it is cheap Chinese tack, phone cases and charging cables.

Today I have been offered a HDMI cable, 85 rolls of Washi Tape, Collagen Tablets and a ladies sterling silver necklace and a Bicycle lock. I just ignore 95% of requests as how can you review something honestly if you have no use for it.

Lots of people spot “favourable” reviews and it takes just a few to start giving you an unhelpful thumbs down. Another thing I have noticed, quite often within a week or two of being offered cheap tack to review it appears as an Amazon Daily Deal.

Keep an eye out on the daily deals, look at the reviews, take note of the first 5 or so, see how often they are accompanied by an abnormal amount of pictures or a short video of the product
Brilliant. Just nosey as to how it happens and what it is like. Thanks for the insight!

So I shouldn't buy it? Price does seem a bit too good to be true. Does "Amazon's choice" mean anything?

Based on this I'll give it a go, I can return it if I'm not happy I suppose.
