Bomberman  is a strategic maze based video game, gameplay involves strategically placing down bombs, which explode in multiple directions after a certain amount of time, in order to destroy obstacles and kill enemies and other players. The player can pick up various power-ups, giving them benefits such as larger explosions or the ability to place more bombs down at a time. The player is killed if they touch an enemy or get caught up in a bomb's explosion, including their own, requiring players to be cautious of their own bomb placement.

£30? If this was on Steam/XBL/PS Store then it'd probably struggle to sell in great numbers even at £3.

Much as I love Bomberman of old, I still think they should sell this by it's full title of Super Bomberman Ripoff. Only in a console launch as software starved as this one could such a simple game have a hope of selling at full price as a full retail game.

That said, I think it will sell, still quite a strong name, multiplayer to make use of the detaching controllers and will be so many with a console and nowt to play after Zelda it is sure to do decent numbers, whether it deserves to or not is another matter....

gotta agree but not a lot of games to choose from and I don't like full price indy games . the switch is looking more like a ps vita looking at the games on offer 50/50 to cancel my previous order

its Konami , not sure there indy

Good price on a pre-release game on a console that's not even released yet! And a not yet released console that happens to be the nations most eagerly anticipated and exciting console. If you factor in the anticipation, buzz and general excitement around the only non mainstreaming console maker providing something fresh and exciting, a premium pre-release price should not be shocking to anyone.

£40 though!! Fourty Pounds! For Bomberman? It's bomberman. Breath Of the Wild costs this much on the Wii U, £10 more on the switch. Utter madness to rush and pre-order a console with one flagship and a handful of wii u ports or indie type games sold at AAA prices for some reason. For the record I have a wii u and a 3ds so I can say from experience, let Nintendo prove it this time before rushing in. The switch could become an overpriced tablet with overpriced ports of Android games and the occasional admittedly fun Nintendo IP games... But they will be few and far between and arguably not enough to necessitate the expensive proprietary hardware in the first place. It took years for the 3ds to prove itself and a massive pay cut, you still pay for a 3d display and triple camera setup nobody uses ever! Nintendo have lost their touch with hardware design as of late and have a lot to prove. I hope it succeeds, I hope I can buy one at the end of the year with Mario Odyssey and there be a compelling library of games.

Something to note, download and play features have been announced for this game.

So you can buy it and invite your friends and they don't have to own the game to play with you.

If it came out for PS4 or XBone it wouldn't even be big enough to have a physical release - that's what I was getting at.

Listen, I'm not anti-Nintendo, I just wish they'd try a bit harder to get me to part with my cash.

They are about to release a unique truly hybrid gaming console without compromise that will significant change and improve the multiplayer gaming scene for which the like has never been done. What is it they have to do, to get you to part with your cash?

Haha, thanks for your unbiased input "Nintendo fan with Mario avatar". You can throw as much marketing BS as you want, but at the end of the day none of that matters unless there's some ACTUAL games.

With regards to improving "the multiplayer gaming scene for which the like has never been done" - I can only assume you're talking about Mario Kart (itself just a polished version of the Wii U game). Bomberman at a silly AAA price that you'd have to be daft to pay and Splatoon is now behind a pay-wall for online multiplayer. How is any of this supposed to get me to invest???

£36.75 at Gameseek, but they take payment upfront.

I stated a fair description of what the console offers, that is far from biased but hey mud sticks doesn't it

I can't even debate your point further on what you are saying as it is to much of the unknown and I won't be making assumptions as that invalidates ones opinion. It is not clear how many software titles there will be over the longer term, how many games will require an online payment for online play (and how much £'s). As said the Switch offers a unique multiplayer experience like no other. It is the local multiplayer that really excites me, and why I will be buying multiple switch consoles for our household. I will wait and see what the score is with the online multiplayer and how specific games are impacted before forming an opinion.

PS, I really don't think you should buy a Switch console either, does not sound like it is for you.

dont all consoles have online paywalls?

all launch software on all consoles come at a high price, which will settle down over comimg month.

the local multiplayer is what excites me, itll be easier to take switch out for 2 - 8 player games, ever taken pc or console to lan party not fun.

if you want play latest assassins creed, cod, battlefromt, you got multiply other options to choose from. for me zelda, mario, bomberman, wonder boy are what im getting switch for.

Yeah I get that the prices will come down, it just seems like Nintendo are holding early adopters to ransom - either pay up or have no games to play on your shiny new console.

You've kinda hit the nail on the head in terms of why I dislike the paid online service. Almost every AAA multi-format game I will probably buy on PS4 anyway, which just leaves leaves Nintendo exclusives. That's why it seems a bit cheeky to charge a monthly fee just for the right to play a very small catalogue of exclusives online. Yeah some people will only have Switch and for those people I get that it is worth the monthly fee, but they're really denting their user base if they don't take people like me into consideration i.e. those who are interested in Switch as a second console.

Lose the monthly fees and all of a sudden Splatoon is worth a purchase, Mario Kart is worth the upgrade from Wii U, etc, etc. All of this really is intended as constructive criticism - I WANT Nintendo to do well.

early adopters will get free online for few months, so get something for paying bit more.
