Contract Mileage is 15000 over the 3 years, but have spoken to dealer and said it would be around £10 a month to take it up to 30000! Likely to be a bit of a waiting list, and only free colour is solid red. First year road tax free, £110 a year after that.

Average £1233 a year for warranty covered basic driving and then you can just give the car back - sounds a canny deal to me. Not for everyone, but on a monthly cost proposition you're not going to get much better for this outlay. I'll give it some heat.

Where does the £7995 come from? Is this a lease or HP?

pretty amazing they are trying peddle 2 generations old engines in their latest crop of cars and offering cruise control on a 1.2 but not air con seems madness to me

Cruise control costs them the stalk. Air con is much more expensive to fit.

If an Arnold Clark salesperson told me that, I would take it with a very large pinch of salt. Get it in writing before signing anything. These guys are professional sharks. I have had so very many negative dealings with them I could write a book. Lies, lies and then more lies. Not saying they are all like that, but any I have encountered have been shocking in their ability to tell porky pies.

Great deal if you're planning to hand it back. If you bought it outright and sold at three years I reckon you'd struggle to cover the depreciation at £100 a month.

That is why I believe it requires much more investigation before penning paper.

Indeed - Not an all-new car more a thorough revamp of the old model!

Wondering the same... 99x37 is £3663, not even half the total the title gives! Even if you add the 220 for two years of road tax...

Editor

Am I been stupid here, the cash price of the car is £7995, but to take it on finance is £99 over 36 months plus £99 deposit = £3663?

But yet it states total repayable = £9090.

Sorry if I'm been fick.

It's not hard to work out - 15,000 miles at 9p per mile = £37.50 extra per month to take the mileage up to 10,000 per year.

The total repayable is if you want to keep the car at the end and pay the final guaranteed value on top of the monthly payments! Seems clear to me.

Lovely bright colour with white alloys and go faster stripes. Beautiful.

£7995 is the price to by the car outright, without finance.
You're right in that it is the usual practice on here to put the total outlay in the thread title - i.e. £3663 in this case, but i guess the OP just made a mistake or didn't know that.

So it's a lease rather than HP?

Original Poster

-I have put 7995 in the price section as this is the cash price of the car, indeed the car will be 99*36 + 99 deposit = £3663 over the full term of the PCP.
-If you put the mileage allowance up at time of taking out the deal it will be significantly less than the 9ppm (this is what you would pay at the end of the deal if the mileage is over), I have done this on a previous PCP.

Sounds like a rip off

£3663 payable over the 36 months, leaving a "bubble payment" of £5427 if you want to own the car at the end of the 36 months = £9090.

Or you can hand it back and not pay the £5427..

Why does it sound like a rip off?

It's a (f)lease. Not a bad price if you can afford it and pay outright in cash.

9 grand for a corsa, they're taking the pi$$

It's a sting.

Its a Lease. Where else can you lease a car so cheap?

I've done a quick calculation on a spreadsheet and after 3 years you'll still owe around £5,377. I'm guessing that you then have a choice of paying this amount and keep the car, or sell it back to them for £5,427. So allowing for my calcs to be a little out, essentially the same amount.

I've used the APR of 5.2% on a reducing balance, taking into account the monthly payments made;

So how does this work if something goes wrong? Ie stuff like tyres windscreen brakes etc u replace urself is the rest under 3 year warranty. What the damage liability?

1.2 sting only produces 84 bhp, must be slowest in it's class. might look ok but you'll feel a right **** with lorrys and vans ripping past you.

You'll probably need to add on £20 or so per month for the extra mileage up to 10,000 pa. So around £120 per month. I don't know if this is a good deal so I won't vote either way. Although being only 3 door I'd rule it out personally - unless you don't have kids or don't intend anybody being in the back. Though of course it would still be a pain trying to put shopping or the like on the back seats!

Ford has been sticking the 1.25 Zetec into Fiestas for over 20 years, doesn't seem to harm their sales.

Tyres and brakes are usually wear and tear items, unless they are faulty and unless you're donuting it around McDonalds neither should need replacing. I've done 26k in my current car and it's still on the original brakes and tyres although they get switched in the winter.

Fully comp insurance should cover the windscreen (unless you've excluded it), with a nominal excess to pay.

Damage? That's what you pay insurance for.

Someone mentioned it's £10 a month extra for 10k a year, although the national average in private petrol cars is less than 7,000 miles.

Duh! That's where the subs go!

Cheaper than Council Tax, why are people complaining? Wouldn't suit me as 3dr, but certainly can't fault if someone's in the market for a smaller car!

We get it, you don't like corsa's. Would you mind vacating the soapbox for someone with a more 3 dimensional opinion?

Ha yeah just seems too good a deal when u hand it back in 3 years they say it's worth 2 grand. I mean where do you stand if seats are stained car scratched mechanically it's a bit rough. Are you liable to pay what they expect or face a ruined credit history or debt?

I think you'll find that's a generic issue with this type of finance contract - nothing specific to this deal though.
