The Platinum King series are perfect for users looking for an efficiency vs price vs performance sweet spot. They meet 80+ Platinum Standards resulting in lower electricity usage, yet hit a great pricepoint and perform very well. A five year warranty is included as standard along with all black cables and a 12cm thermally controlled lower noise fan.

The Super Flower Platinum King series are an impressive mix of efficiency, reliability and price/performance, backed up with a 5 year warranty.

Can only find 650w reviews:

jonnyguru.com/for…582 - This thread implies that the Platinum king is based on the Superflower Golden Green HX range, which was a well reviewed range of PSUs.

Excellent PSU from SuperFlower who are right up there with Seasonic these days in terms of quality OEMs.

I respectfully disagree, because Seasonic offers a 10 year warranty.

Well warranty is "only" 5 years but if you don't need a modular design you can't argue with the price here.

True on this particular model (which is Superflower's budget Platinum rated unit) it's only 5 years, but that's the same for most of Seasonic's budget line actually

3-7 year seasonic units found in 10 sec google-fu:

I think the op's deal is a pretty good deal. The only PSU in the list from Scan that is platinum efficient is the 660w seasonic which is discontinued. Platinum = cheaper to run i.e. more efficient = cooler running = longer component life.

This silver rated PSU is a good contender if you want modular (semi) and only need 500w

Yup I agree but my point was that Seasonic warranty varies between product lines, just as SF's does. The plat rated 660 SS had a 7yr warranty and that is their upper-mid/premium line

Is it that particularly relevant as I can't see any platinum seasonic anywhere near this price? The price hike is totally disproportionate to the warranty increase

Please read the original comment I was replying to, I think you are misunderstanding the point I'm trying to make, or rather the point I was countering which was that SeaSonic is superior simply because "they offer 10 year warranty".

tempted but the delivery really putting me off.

Super Flower.... what a name

If you've got prime go for this instead (last 1 in stock):

+2 years extra warranty and semi-modular, but slightly less efficient

Im keeping an eye out for a platinum as Im considering a silent PC build.

your deal isnt half bad, and a decent review from jonnyguru too. might be tempted too.....

Yeah but its a moot point IMO. I would say that the best Seasonic (12 year warranty) is way better than the best Super Flower for sure but obviously Seasonic also bring cheaper quality psu's to market so that they have market share in every category and £ for £ you can get a better quality build and components from a Super Flower PSU with a bit of research.

Postage put me off, as it always does which is why I always spend my money elsewhere, £10 post is a complete rip-off.

You might also qualify for £6 amazon credit if you buy £30 of amazon vouchers (you can spend the vouchers on yourself). That puts it even below my offer original deal.

They do deliver in a Tesla with an over-clocked engine so delivery is good value really as it arrives before you order it due partly to Tesla using AI which predicts when you will order and has the stock in your area just in case.

I once bought something from overclockers because it was a £15 saving over anywhere else... of course £10 of that saving got eaten up by delivery, I call that my unicorn because its a rarity, I don't believe I will ever be able to pull off getting a deal from overclockers again but it was magical to have achieved it once.

FWIW you can get free delivery on everything ocuk sells through posting on their forums. With free delivery their prices are a lot more attractive.
