Probably still worthwhile doing the Amazon Prime/Assistant thing for £39.99. I got the regular edition for £29.99.
Great game. Don't get it if you're planning on playing online - it's completely broken. Majority of games will be like playing in slow motion... unplayable. Trust me when I tell you online is barely functioning per to per. And it's not the first game Nintendo have pushed out with the quality lacking in online...smash brothers is still a mess. They had a get out card when this 'service' was offered free...now they're charging 10 million of us for something that simply doesn't work.

I've played 10 hours of this online and no problems so far. Can't speak for other games though.

10 hours? You're VERY lucky then. As an experiment I played 10 games in a row...2 times I got connection failed and it didn't load, 7 times it was in slow motion... unplayable. The 1 time it worked ok it doesn't even allow you to automatically stick with playing with those players as pressing to continue playing looks for new games.

My connection is over 100mb...it's definitely not my connection. It's per to per gaming and goes off the lowest connection. So I'm very surprised you've played 10 hours and had zero problems. It simply doesn't work well.

Maybe a router setting or network, I have a issue online if I play smash on 5ghz WiFi so always connect to 2ghz, I know it's odd but only ever happened on Nintendo games, read online it's Nintendo servers not working properly with virgin hub 2b users.

Nah if it was an issue with my router then every game would be an unplayable slow motion lagfest...I'm having games that are fine (although few and far between). Plenty are having the same issues as it's broke. If somebody leaves the game will ease up a bit. If the player that's lagging the game leaves then it will run fine. But there's no filters to picks to play with those with good connections. I always have full bars shown before going into each and every game btw.

Also, mario kart which I assume is also P2P has always run fine. Lag free. No change from when the service was free. But this and smash brothers...forget about it. Nothing but issues. People posted about changing the network setting on the switch helps with smash...I tried it and it's barely a fix (think it was increasing the packets?). And I know the switch isn't 5ghz compat...not many things are (I'm also on virgin). I notice it's more an issue again when it's 4 players. Makes me think is simply Nintendo's network code as they still don't quite 'get' online. Which is excusable...if they weren't charging for it.

Anyway, like i said, it's a good game. Just don't get it right now if playing courses online is your preference. Hopefully they'll patch it. But smash still isn't the most stable, so who knows.

How about downloading courses to play single player?

Anything single player, local co op is perfectly fine. Courses download and upload quickly. It's the 4 play online that's got issues.
There's no options to just play with 2 or 3 players...or just friends or just from your region so far.

Can anyone recommend any places to get 2 more controllers? I have 2 atm but want 2 more for multiplay.

I don't mind buying knock offs if they're good quality

I used this with the £6 promo credit on £50 Amazon voucher to make it £23.99 (needed to buy other stuff anyways). Well happy with it
