It's the reason I'll never bother with it
so the whole game is $4.99 or will there be ain app purchases even after paying $4.99?

Pay £4.99 and there's no more in app purchases. It's usually free to download and play a couple of levels. Then if you want to play the full game you usually pay £9.99, but now it's £4.99. There's no further in app purchases or micro transactions, you either buy the full game or you don't.

So how do I pay? Gplay only gives me an option to install for fee?

You buy the full game via an in-app purchase. I thought the same, already had it installed but didn't remember ever buying it!

Note: The discounted price isn't live until this Saturday.

On a flight or camping in a remote area. Rare circumstances but enough for me not to buy it as it would do my head in but being able to play when and where I wanted to. Plus this behaviour can't be condoned or more developers will do it.
thanks for heads up
this will be news to my 4 year olds ears - he seems to find the 3 free levels endlessly fun and regularly runs into screens asking for payment (which he doesn't understand) only for me to put him back on the right path back to the 3 free levels (skinflint that I am) at £4.99 I may just pay it given how much he loves Mario (which still tickles me given I had the same passion for him some 30 years ago - and my boy is only 4 - how can 4 year olds be so adept at these things?!)
Just bought it, thanks OP

its an an in app purchase for all content - one off payment of £4.99 reduced from £9.99.
Thanks, was waiting to reduce again
