I wish people stopped wanting games that gave you 30+ hrs worth of entertainment to be reduced everytime. I'm glad nintendo games stay at these prices, cause that's how it should be.

I hope none of you go to places like a cinema that costs half of this for a measly hour and a halfs worth of entertainment. Or a meal for 2 at a restaurant that lasts no more than an hour and costs just as much as this.

Stop trying to de-value games, please.
Same price as a brand new game.. Really wish nintendo would stop that
At the same time reselling it means you still get a lot back.

This is brand new, did you mean same price as on release?

Totally agree, I think with the current gen we've been spoilt by mainly 3rd party developers steadily dropping prices on there games particularly on PS4 and Xbox One but Nintendo still have a premium price model and yet it works as some do pay £40 and upwards for Nintendo 1st party games.

What's worse is, although it has a large adult player base.. Nintendo games are usually marketed toward families and children, making parents have to pay more to get that game a kid wants.. Where as on other consoles, you wait a while and the games drop in price and stay down
Just to let people know. I ordered this 3 or 4 days ago (same deal) and they have an estimated dispatch of 4th April.
You wont get it this week
Yeah and also pc world are exceptionally slow at the moment. I ordered some Nintendo Eshop credit but haven’t received and email yet PayPal’s showing it payment has been taken

Lol Nintendo definitely didn't make mobile games just to stay afloat.

I mean I'm sure they will be alright, considering the Switch has sold more consoles in three years than the Xbox One has in around seven years, they seem to be in a pretty good place.

Aren't you the one who doesn't understand supply and demand? If Nintendo couldn't sell these games full price years down the line, they would bring the price down but they can, so the price stays high. As well, if you get your play out of it and don't want the game anymore trade it in or sell on and get about 70% of what you paid back rather than buying a game for £40/50 at release and then getting about £5 back when it drops in price after a couple of months.

Haha Nintendo could literally loose £150 million every year for the next 30 years and still be okay. They have so much stocked up money in the bank and assets.

Mobile was just a facet they wanted to delve into.

I also feel the same as kwesley that Nintendo games hold value because Nintendo keeps it that way. It’s good for their branding, makes their IP feel like it’s at a premium. Most of their games are top quality so it’s not that big of a deal.

Unfortunately too many big game company’s are forced to drop the prices of their games due to market saturation and the fact that most the most money is made in the release window, and that due to the second hand market and piracy sales and price drops are the only way for publishes to see further profits from their games.

Nintendo manages to play the game a little differently is all and it works for them as a business.

Can I ask why you bought it from PC world instead of just buying it on the eShop?

I read your first 4 words and stopped reading. Have a great day.
Switch consoles are going got £400 one ebay atm. Even gen 1 which says everything about supply and demand.
I tend to ‘shop’ on Facebay for Nintendo games. Obviously at the moment it’s not possible with the lockdown, but I got this, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze & Octopath Traveller for £25 each at various times. Okay they weren’t new, but seeing as new prices rarely drop I’d rather save some ££ and being on cartridges they’re less likely to be damaged

At the same time, the other consoles have most games which are aimed towards the older crowd, which aren't suitable for kids but never stopped parents buying those games for them. And then there's stuff like FIFA which is within their age range but has a lot of microtransactions.

I understand that the Nintendo games are pretty costly, but as someone said, when you eventually want to move on from the games you're done with, you still will get back a lot of what you spent when you sell them off. And it cushions you from quick and heavy losses from when you buy day one, unlike stuff like Shadow of the Tomb Raider back in 2018 which dropped a third of the price after only one month.

So there's strengths and weaknesses in two sides of things.
I get the whole upfront cost thing, but it's more a blessing that a game holds value like this as you know that, if you sell it, the most you'll lose is a fiver or so. Plus, Nintendo games are absolute quality, so they're worth the spend.
I think what people don't realise is that, for most games, if many people didn't buy them at full price at release, the developers wouldn't make any money.

The development cost has gone up and up year on year but we all expect the price to stay the same, and then we expect the game to be 50% cheaper after a few months and then dirt cheap after that.

Then we get upset that games are getting chopped into pieces and sold in dlc and microtransactions.

As long as Nintendo keep releasing good quality full games I'll buy their games, even if it means paying a bit more. At least if you buy physical, you can sell the game on for a decent price.
Big fan of Nintendo throughout many consoles, remember paying £60 for cartridge games.
However personally with modern competition, I no longer pay full price, as plenty of discounts and sales going around (its why ppl use hotukdeals too) and just simply too much backlog so can wait (unless a game I have long awaited for release I may splash out out the odd time for the collectors copy)
Partly agree developers need make money too, and production for physical copies has gone up, but I believe they are still taking big enough cut in my views.
Obviously depending on how much investment has been put into the game too, and understandable it is hard to claim what is the sweet spot price for a AAA game compared to budget developed games.
I wish Nintendo digital copies was better priced, this way both buyers and developers will benefit by cutting out the middle production physical copy cost. Lucky Region free eshop is quite competitve at fair price sales, I believe this will reduce any piracy if digital copies maintains these good sales.

Personally gonna want for a better deal as this game has been out for long time. 3DS copy will keep me going for now. However no denial it may be the cheapest price if you want copy now so voted hot.

I said I had all current gen consoles, this means including the Switch as that is current gen I just didn't pay over the odds for it and the games I have which is what the point of this site/app is all about.

I really don't know why people argue with me on justifying high prices on here, surely we're all using this place to get as far down away from the RRP as possible, even if it takes waiting for that sweet price point
Amazing deal that’s OP ^__^
