Why would anyone pre order a standard edition game this far in advance? Likely will be cheaper closer to release
Says that if the game is released too long after purchase date they take payment after 21 days.

I remember when Street fighter 2 turbo came out on the SNES and everyone got excited about 4 extra characters. And yet it was still 50 quid on cartridge.

Except this is not Super Smash Bros 4 - Remastered. It's a different game entirely

This is going to get silly hot, and rightly so. I've added my heat.
Thanks OP
Thanks ordered
It makes base at 41.85 back in march look super scorching in retrospect!

Do you know if they take payment out straight away?

Because Nintendo are trying to charge £59.99 as RRP. This is the cheapest so far with the next cheapest being 48.99.
Surely, surely this'll get a special edition. god let there be one.
Don't get the hype around this game.
What do people think, pre-order now or wait until just after launch for it to drop in price)

Can see it floating around this price prior to release and post release.

Nintendo first party games are usually cheapest at their pre-order prices. Often they will go up in price after release and not come down again for some time - if at all. I'm going to pre-order, but not until I can find someone that won't take my money until release. A lot of these companies will take payment early because the pre-order release date is so far out (read the t+c's). For example Simply Games state "Payment for order will be captured when we dispatch your items unless your order was placed more than 28 days before the official release date. In this case your payment will be captured within 21 days of your order placed." Your going to pay in July for a game that doesn't come out till December.
I wouldn’t pay for a game 5 months early, just look what happened to Gameseek a couple of months back.

It was those £199 Nintendo Switch pre orders which killed them lol

I can't fault Simply Games at all. Have no problem with them taking the money early. I always get my games early from them. When I ordered Final fantasy Xv from them (it only cost £32 release day). They had sent me the game on the Saturday and I had the game finished the day before it was supposed to be released.

When will payment be taken?

Payment for order will be captured when we dispatch your items unless your order was placed more than 28 days before the official release date. In this case your payment will be captured within 21 days of your order placed.

NOTE: Although we DO NOT immediately capture the transaction, some banks reflect the value of the order against your available balance immediately. In this case we have not actually captured the payment; the bank have merely 'reserved' the funds for us. This process is perfectly normal and is referred to as 'pre-authorisation'.

not when the rrp is 60
This might just increase in price when it's near to release date.

I’m sure it was around Jan/Feb time. Now owned by Boss distribution Limited. Still same great service though.

Credit card. No worries.
Usually gets delivered early via simply as well.

I've ordered 4 times with them, the most recent last week, and they all came 1-2 days early apart from God of war which was on release. I also don't need to be in for the delivery, it's just through the letterbox when I get home which is super handy

Smyths will be cheapest in store I reckon - usually knock a fiver off. Decent price but hold.

Please enlighten me? I thought section 75 only covers purchases over £100?
Brilliant find! Pre-ordered this and Pokémon. Total cost 84, which when considering the RRP on smash is 59.99, not bad at all.

Honestly think with it being Christmas release for this and Pokémon, both will keep their RRP. I would pre order when you see a price in line with what you would like to pay!

Thanks OP
It still bothers me that Amazon US is offering this with a 20% discount after E3, bringing it down to about $48.

Where's our lovely discount?

Thanks for this! Hot! Placed an order!

Don't Credit Cards protect you for just 120 days after payment? This game doesn't come out for around 180 days.

Yes indeed! I can see why I may have confused you, in this thread of course. I did briefly mention it, but not to worry.

As for the other bod asking about protection under £100, remember that Chargeback is eligible for 120 days from 'the problem'.

which.co.uk/con…ack

Don't believe for a second that only >£100 payments are eligible for protection; you just have a bit more in terms of section 75.

Know your rights, good people!
