I remember some N64 games being £59.99 back in the day! Now that seemed like a lot of money back then! Tbh I don't like paying more than £40 for a game but for select titles I'm happy to pay a bit more.
Since when has retail price for a new game gone to £50?

Why are Nintendo games always so expensive?

Because they don’t make bad games

Nintendo seem to add a premium on to their prices.

Not exactly a scorching deal but every little helps. Have a bit of heat.
Was hoping this would be on Prime Now for £49.99 to get the £10 off but it isn't showing

Especially when it’s a port pretending to be a new game?

Woah mad! Probs in my top 10 best nostalgic games of all time that one. 👌
Looks like Tesco are also £48 for anyone who doesn’t have an Argos near them
Is the controller really necessary for this?

Because they don’t sell across multiple consoles I expect
£48?! Do one Nintendo!

So do Sony make bad games? Don't recall having to pay this much for any of their exclusives
Looking forward to Mr mailman posting my copy today, reviews are very positive.

I paid £55 for a Secret of Mana import on SNES back in 1993, which a quick Google tells me would be a tidy £108.34 in today's money

Secret of Mana with the map would sell for more than that now in good condition lol, so not a great example. However Megadrive games sold for around £50 back in the day at launch.... Games are soo much cheaper now, back in the day getting a new game was amazing (even if the game was ). Now people don't even play the games they buy

You're not wrong. I bough NBA Jam for the SNES in the 90's, and it cost £60 back then, which equates to ~£116 in today's money!!
Amazon have price matched, so anyone who pre ordered with Amazon will get £2 back anyway.
Hold on...are people only just realising that games nowadays release for about £50? It's not just Nintendo that do this, this has been happening since the PS4, Xbone and Wii U were released.

Literally waiting for it. If you see it please let me know! Otherwise I'm just going to pick up my other deal I posted earlier
The whole Nintendo games are too expensive argument is a bit pointless, ultimately they hold their value so you can recoup most of the outlay if sell later.

I got Super Smash digital from SA store for £64 Inc season pass - as I know will play for years. It's absolutely incredible so far, and works amazing handheld...I am playing the SP campaign which is absolutely brilliant so far. It's very fast paced fighting, and the graphics are absolutely stunning
I pre-ordered from argos at £52.99 2 days ago, has not been delivered yet and now its £47.99, can I get refunded the difference?

Yeah that's why I posted. I had £30 in vouchers. Although I bought the mega drive collection using them in the end and got smash bros from tesco with my £12 off voucher.
For me, even the £299 odd price tag for the switch console seems well over priced seeing as its been out quite a while now and the technical specs are hardly on a par with their rivals where there (non pro\x) versions are a good £100 cheaper.
