Been having a look for Father's Day gifts for my FIL & since he's a bit of a Petrol Head thought this offer at Buyagift looked decent as a present from my girls, it is currently on offer for £40 but if you use code GIFTDAD2016 it gives you either £10 off £40 Spend or £15 off £75 Spend so brings it down to £30. The code seems to work site wide apart from a few exclusions (will pop link to those in first post) & there are some other fab ideas for gifts ie Introductory Flying Lesson for One now £64 with code, 12 Mile Helicopter Theme Flight for One now £49. The code will also work on a combination of gift experiences ie I added Three Course Meal with Glass of Wine for Two at Prezzo now £30 & 2 for 1 Adult Tour of Wembley Stadium now half price at £17 & got both for £37, will pop links to those in 1st 2nd posts too & any others I find that look great value.

better than a 3 !!!! mile -super-extra-fun blast in a lambo

Remember though that the supercar driving experience will heavily push additional damage waiver insurance when you get there, and scare you with being liable for £5K damage if you don't take it. Also, the high speed drive you are taken on won't be in a supercar - the one i went on it was a Vauxhall Vectra and i didnt bother waiting for it! But for £50? Worth it for the experience.

Agree, waiver Insurance a scam, dont need it.

My mate did it in the Aston and the guy was nagging him all the time if he got anywhere near 50mph and didn't know a thing about the car when he asked him questions

rather bring my own car onto a track than this. no "instructor" restricting your driving to a crawl-pace, you get hours instead of 8minutes, no worry of damaging someone else's car etc.

good deal if getting into a supercar is the main thing for you, you can usually do this for free at car shows however.

I was given a 5 car experience as a present, my favourite drive was the Ariel Atom, a lot of fun. Then the Lambo, Ferrari, Audi R8, Aston Martin. I would say to avoid the Aston, I found it a bit slow around the track, might have been the instructor, but I should have opted for the Nissan GTR.

You have to be a complete idiot to have a crash as the instructors tell you exactly what to do, although there are some first timers on the track and I did see someone take a Ferrari onto the grass verge (not sure how much damage they did).

Yup, the Nissan GTR is an awesomely quick car. Normally on the very short straights these 'experiences' have you can just get to 70-80mph in the Lambo's... I hit over 90mph, nearly 100, in no time in the GTR.

I was the only one of the group to choose the GTR and they all regretted it!!

It's with all the unusual extras. Don't judge me. ;-)

I've done quite a few of these driving day deals. It does depend on the instructor but it also depends on you as the driver. If you follow their commands accurately, you will get to fast speeds. I highly recommend Prestwold Hall, one of my favourite driving days, did the GTR here and it is easier to drive than the Lambo, Ferrari etc, easily the fastest car on the track for an amateur and got to around 130-140 on the main straight. Don't be put off by comments from people who have had bad instructors or lacked confidence to be pushed.

I was going to say something similar. Only done a couple of these, and the instructor really made sure we went fast, if anything they helped show off the power of accelerating and braking of these cars, as I went faster than I would have without them pushing.

I did the driving day at Aldershot - wouldn't recommend this place at a weekend was there in ques for 5 hours - but the vehicles and instructors were good apart from one who was not happy for me to drive too fast in the Aston, but the lambo and Ferrari instructors allowed some pretty good speeds even pulling over so that we had a clear track ahead to really blast. They are always on the sell though - I think a majority of people are scared into the insurance - but on my drive day didn't see anyone out of the hundreds there crash any vehicles.
