Hot from me. Had my 60 upgraded to 100 last week.

This is not an offer and it is something thats been advertised for months. All customers are getting faster speeds. Mine is from September

Erm, how do you get this freebie?

Be with virgin and do nothing :-)

No sheeeeeeeeeee ..... lol. :-)

Heat; it being a good reminder. Not a Virgin customer myself though. TalkTalk's fine with me.

Well then, this is another post that belongs in deals and not freebies. Not something anyone can claim for free, only those with a Virgin contract.

Needs to be moved.

Yeah, they're upgrading everyone on Virgin without you needing to do anything.

I think it should be moved to misc actually, as it's not even a deal - you can't do nothing to get it, it's just a heads up that they're upgrading everyone's broadband

heat from me i forgot all about this just upgraded thanks

I upgraded from 120mb to 156mb by ringing up and quoting big kahuna if you don't ring up you don't get the deal

Well, my date has once again been pushed back.. now showing as December this year every time they play this trick, it was originally showing as April, then July, then October..

Virgin is crap.

Yeah me too... I think originally it was due around now, but it changed a while back and ours is now January - June

I too share this pain of set-backs, which is quite amusing really as my download speed has dropped from 62 down to around 31, wonder what i'll get when it's supposed to go to 100 in dece-never

Agreed.

Once you upgrade your speed drops. Look at the virgin media forums with the thousands of complaints about this same issue. Too many people on the nodes causes over utilisation and their equipment is not up to the task of all the subscribers.

Cold as this is not a freebie or a deal. If you logged into your Virginmedia control panel it tells you when your speed will be upgraded for free. And you don't have to call. I never have and we are on about 155 Meg download.

You can supercharge your speed from up to 30Mb broadband to up to 50Mb broadband between January 2015 and June 2015.

silly offer.

Virgin ground to a halt every World Cup game. They don't have proper redundancy so if there is a fault there is no capacity. Their DNS servers cannot handle the customers. But what choice do we have. This was advertised as a sort of reason behind the price rises

Unfairly cold I think.. Heat added

what do you have to do to get it then ?

Those not getting the correct speed may want to look at their own internal network equipment before pointing the finger at virgin media.

Yep, I called VM, we talked about my big Kahunas and I ended up with 152Mb instead of 60Mb and paying a few quid a month less than before.

I have now wired in my son's XBOX instead of using wireless so that he can benefit from the faster speed when downloading.

Why is this Cold? Got mine up to 50 now. HEAT
