Quality glasses, bought about 30 pairs from them since last August!
Also, use Backfor5 for extra 5% off.
Lenses are £9
Ask for your lens prescription. They have probably kept it or they have given it you without you realising.
Will do next week, thanks. Checked my receipt and it just says 1.5 for each lens but that site has numerous fields on the prescription bit. No mention of pupillary distance either.
Definitely gonna have to get something more detailed from them when I go back in.
All the best with the Pupillary Distance measurement. I've never had an optician give it to me. I bought a pair from here and just left the fields as default and they seem OK.
Not suggesting you do that, just what I did.
They don't like to give the P.D readings! Don't blame them really. You can measure it yourself (or someone do it for you) - I have a little ruler that some online opticians sent me years ago but I was way out with my measurements!
My advice is don't.. .once you start wearing specs it's a slippery slope. Eye strain through regular vdu use can be minimized by regular breaks.
Get a ruler (a stiff one) and measure the rough distance from the centre of one pupil to the other in front of a mirror.
Mine is 69mm but default is 63mm, quite a big difference.
If it's a weak prescription then just try to measure it yourself and throw it on
There's an ap that measures your distance, "PD meter" on the android store
5 weeks so far and still waiting....
VDU? Are we back in the 80s?

I’m in the same boat as you - totally new to glasses, just had an eye test today. I was given the sheet and it has most of the info on (Sph, Cyl, Axis). So this is really good timing, thanks OP. Heat from me. £15.44 with a pair and cheap case. I should probably have waited and tried some in shops, but they’d cost a lot more and I’d need to wait till payday anyway, so this isn’t bad for the time being. Just hope I shut them!
See I didn't get any of that. Thanks, Boots! I'll get it from them when I collect the pair I bought from them
I used Tesco, which is now owned by Vision Express but they haven’t rebranded the store yet so it was free hope they didn’t rip you off
Some eye strain can be reduced by regular breaks but if someone has an eye condition requiring additional help in the form of glasses then probably best to take the opticians advice over joe bloggs
30 or 3?
It is, the Glasses are £10.
Basic lenses are free. Price is £14.99 inc delivery or use code backfor5 to bring price down to £14.49.
Not sure how you got £29??
2 pairs including lenses is only £23.99 with 5% discount code. (see post below)
over 30 now.
Just bought 2 more pairs for £23.99 inc delivery.
When I bought from Glasses Direct, they just asked me to send them a photo of my face with a credit card size card on my forehead and they calculated the distance
I thought I had a lot of pairs... Lol
Yeah that's one way of doing it. There's an app that will do that for you as well with the credit card. Pd meter on Android. It's not free though.
... considering just sticking a note on the order to add it if poss.
