"For millennia, dominant societies have had the habit of believing their own people to be the best, deep down: the more powerful they become, the more power begins to be framed as natural, as well as cultural. When you see how power has shaped the idea of race, then you can start to understand its meaning."

Thanks Kyoto, looks like something i would be interested in and is a critically acclaimed book rather than one of those with only a few dozen pages. heat from me
Thanks
Thank you
Our National Curriculum has Imperialist roots. At school I was taught that our civilisation has its roots in Greco roman but no mention that in turn those society's in turn had thier roots in Egypt which in turn Mesopotamia. Also no mention of Nubia and other African Kingdoms that had temples and monuments just as impressive as Egypt and Mesoamerica.
Thanks Kyoto. Especially relevant in these troubled times.
Any aliens observing us must think 'how dull-witted these Earthlings are, hating and killing because of skin colour. Our search for intelligent life continues'

Funny u should mention that. How did neolithic farmers in Salisbury who had just discovered farming, haul huge stones from hundreds of miles away and build a complex stone computer capable of predicting lunar and solar eclipses, equinox and solstices in 2700-2900bc. Theres a 'stonehenge on the euphrates' that was built around 3000bc which has its roots in the sumerian civilisation that lit up like a flame in the desert in 3800bc. A complex society with advanced knowledge of astronomy, astrology, medicine, metallurgy, architecture and the arts. All Scholars agree that the Sumerian civilisation has no historical traces whatsoever and just lit up from nowhere. The work of man alone? The old testament mentions the 'Nefilim' that came down from the 'heavens' in 'fiery chariots' and married the daughters of man.....
Thanks OP - looks like a good read

*Goes to look up 'Sumerian civilisation'.* Come to think of it, I know I have at least one book, if not more, on said peoples, downloaded onto my Kindle app. I've actually been fascinated for years by the *mysteries* you mention, though my focus was on S.America.
Good stuff

Funny u should mention South America. Zecharia Sitchin (sumerian scholar who translated thousands of cuneiform clay tablets from Mesopotamia) wrote 7 books called the Earth Chronicles. The 1st book called the 12th Planet completely blew me away as it synchronised all religions, myth, astronomy, astrology, archaeology and human origins. The 4th book The Lost Realms is about the Mesoamerican civilisations and how they too have thier roots in Mesopotamia.
