For the Superman completist, a bumper collection of all five films in the SUPERMAN saga. SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE SPECIAL EDITION sees the birth of a legend as we are introduced to the titular superhero and his Kryptonian origins. Also included is the expanded edition, which features an additional eight minutes of screen time. This is followed by SUPERMAN II SPECIAL EDITION in which our boy in blue must do battle with three escaped super criminals bent on destroying the earth. Presented here in both its theatrical and director's cut versions, the latter is expanded by an alternate beginning and ending, as well as 15 minutes of restored footage of Marlon Brando as Jor-El. In the third instalment in the franchise, SUPERMAN III DELUXE EDITION, Superman learns of his Achilles heel when he is exposed to kryptonite. The penultimate SUPERMAN IV THE QUEST FOR PEACE sees the Man of Steel take on Nuclear Man, culminating in an explosive showdown of epic proportions. When the Super One returns to Earth in SUPERMAN RETURNS SPECIAL EDITION, he discovers that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life, and must figure out how to protect a world that has learned to survive without him. The ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S EDITION comes housed in a collectible keepsake tin, bursting with extra features.

a great price but surely a superman enthusiast would have most if not all … a great price but surely a superman enthusiast would have most if not all of these already?

Ah but look at the shiny tin.

Deals like this are like Kryptonite to me. I want this. I remember when it was £70.

super hot find

I must be an odd ****** and I apologise if I offend anyone:

But why the ****ing hell would you want this? So you can ditch it when you buy the super ultimate **** sucking definitive version on Blu-Ray?

Its cool and all, and tbh 13 discs divided by 25 isnt that bad, but I just cant see why people are so bothered over something designed to make money

excellent find!!

Been waiting for this to drop below the £30 tag for ages now, thanks alot.

Not really complete when it doesn't include the Supergirl movie. It may be camp but its better than superman 3 and 4 combined

It doesn't include any of the Spiderman movies either! Or the shawshank redemption!

Voted cold.

I was also annoyed, no Superted.

What the ell is wrong with you lot today. Are we going to start criticising any DVD deal because "surely if you like the film, you have it already, or want the Blu-ray"

Surely if you like it you bought at full price already? What?

As to blu-ray, Erm - No. Actually, my old TV is working just fine, so it will be a long time before I have Hi-def, so Blu-ray isn't even a Blip on the radar for me (and I daresay PLENTY of others).

Also - I do happen to like these films, but didn't upgrade them from Video as I was waiting for these bigs sets to come down in value.

As with EVERY deal on this site - HOT for the right people, which is the whole point - Heat and Rep added.

Or Superbad!

I paid more than double for this on its release (or at least - the missus did). Excellent set just for the 2 versions of Superman 1, and the 2 Versions of Superman 2.

heat added, i got the lame Superman 1 &2 boxset so this will replace that nicely thanks

I lot of people rate the alternative Superman 1/2 if the original director was involved.

Not sure why. The changes the new director did made it for the better!

I assume you mean that Richard Lester's version of Superman 2 was better than Richard Donner's? Each to their own Personally I thought Donner's version was massively superior (and I like Lester's version), as it made more sense. Its just a shame we'll never see how good it truly could have been!

Both versions of Superman 1 in the set are directed by Donner tho, with only fairly minor differences - unfortunately not a Bladerunner Final Cut type complete redo to get rid of any nasty effects or whatever.

superman 3 was great, but superman 4 was pants.

They were both terrible but Ricard Pryor was hilarious in 3. It was funny but in a bad way.

Thanks alot, couldn't resist this one. Mrs not to happy though
nevermind guess I will have to stop logging on this website for a few months.
Anyway see you tomorrow......lol:whistling:

Yes! Can't remember names very well. The reason I like Richard Lester's changes is because if the original Richard Donner's version was left in, some things just don't seem to be so well done. For example, when Superman got beat up by the guy in the cafe and he comes back at the end and kicks his ass and implies he had been weight lifting, its fine in the Lester version. However, in Donner's version because they did another spin-round-the-world-so-that-things-never-happened, it looks like Superman simply picked on the guy as the first event never happened, right?

Funny you should ask. I got mine today....in shiteeee.

It was dispatched from Indigo StarFish, Amazons "preferred merchant". It came in a jiffy bag, so it was hardly surprising that there was a big bloody dent in the tin. The postman must have kicked it down the road!
