I thought this version would be a serial to redem in steam... so I mentioned Forged Alliance Forever (FAF). FAF only works with the Steam version of Supreme Commander, and *might* support the version of GOG in the future.

The reason that it needs to be linked to Steam (as far as I remember) is that FAF has some IP that belongs to the original developer and the integration with steam allows them to be 100% sure that the person has a valid copy of the game.

If you want play online, get the Steam version... if you only want single player, get this one :).

Maybe more info is added on the Reddit chanel of Supcom: reddit.com/r/s…og/

Doubt many people play online these days... was a chore to get people back on the gas servers... great game back in the day! way ahead of its time... shame they focussed game 2 around the xbox and ruined the franchise.

I bought Hellblade today from gog.com and it took around three hours to appear in my 'owned games' list. I believe there was alot of traffic and the site was struggling. So if you purchase a game dont worry if it doesn't appear straight away on your GoG Galaxy launcher.

Seemingly a few thousand on most of the time, I watch Gyle Cast on youtube for this pretty regular updates. Great game, anyone who enjoyed C&C style RTS should check it out. Linking it to FAF also gives access to loads of Community mods and maps, loads which have improved the core game a lot, even if your not into multiplayer the addons can be used in solo skirmish. Gyle Cast is worth having a look to see what the multiplayer is about, quite intense and a lot of fun.

I cannot imagine playing this with a controller did it work okay?

This game is still brilliant, highly recommend.
My favourite game of all time, realtime play over a massive area with hundreds of units. You'll want the forged alliance forever mod to update the gfx, fix bugs and play multiplayer. Multiplayer is still popular on FAF. If you really want to feel like a general hook up a second monitor so you can be on two points on the map at the same time.

Last night (UK time) there were 1800 players and around 550 games (if my memory serves me right), but you can check this in the FAF home page. There it shows these 2 figures.

So, it's not as popular as SC2, but the community is still quite active.
The best RTS game ever. Forged alliance is a revelation. The community on forged alliance forever is fantastic and keeps an amazing game alive. The complex balance of resource Vs growth and Army, coupled with endless tactics make this game second to none.
Games slwos down late on, ruins experience for me. Its a ram issue, there is a huge u official patch that kinda fixes it
Faf for PvP or loud for pve. You can't go wrong, still great gameplay
One game I still play with some frequency and it works even on integrated graphics on a little core i5 (3rd gen) notebook. Scales up to high resolution and spec systems brilliantly I found this to be vastly superior to the sequel and is he best RTS I have played (been at it since the early 90s with the genre)
Best game ever, play it online FAF nearly every night.

If you think this is ahead, you need to go back to the TA roots!

This is not Total Annihilation but I'm not arguing about the other point
