SURF ANONYMOUSLY with Free VPN service FrootVPN

Found 25th Oct 2014
Guys, I was looking for a free VPN service which works on all type of platforms I work on.

I found one today and thought of sharing with all HUKD friends. It's in Sweden claiming most secure VPN and it's all free. Use it on your PC, mobile or any system you want to (which has an internet).

This is what they say on their website:

Be safe online - Avoid getting your password and other sensitive information intercepted by connecting to FrootVPN. All your data is encrypted while running our VPN service.

Surf Anonymously - Hide your IP address and surf anonymously. FrootVPN makes it harder for third parties to know who you are on the internet. Not even we know what IP address you have.

No logs - We do care about your internet privacy and therefore we do not log anything at all. Also, your details are never shared with any 3rd party.

Hide your identity - Hide your identity online and surf anonymously. When using our VPN service you will be protected behind a encrypted tunnel and no traces can lead back to you

Unblock favorite services - Unblock services like Netflix, Spotify, Youtube, Facebook and many more. With our service your IP address will be switched to a new one and make it look like you are located in a different location and bypass any restriction

View blocked websites
With FrootVPN you can access services like Facebook, Twitter, Skype, YouTube and Gmail. Even if you are in a country or a private network where the access is blocked.

Avoid censorship & surveillance
When connected to FrootVPN, your ISP only sees encrypted traffic passing to our VPN servers, but they cannot decipher the data or know the websites you have visited.

Ultra secure and fast
The network is highly secured with SSL and all servers are connected to mulitple 10Gbps backbone. Above all, unlimited bandwidth is provided to all customers.

24/7 Support
Our support team will provide you all help needed to setup your VPN service.

Thanks, best thing is that to have a choice of not installing any software to use it.

Just use the provided settings and off you go.

The above link/website does NOT work.

Thanks, another alternative to Cyberghost.

Personally, I would prefer this one as no software is required to install. Even on software side, this is cross platform with multiple devices use and on top of everything else, it's free forever.

May not be free forever though.

Does anyone know of an Android app that'll automatically connect to a vpn if on a non-trusted wifi?

Thanks for the info but I am sure it will still be cheaper than other providers (not picking one specifically).

Still I think it will be free for a long time.

Try this: frootvpn.com/gui…tml

I see the guide for setting up VPN for Windows 8. How do you then choose to use the VPN. Also, how do you choose not to go through the VPN?

Also, same question for Android, how do you activate it and de-activate it? Also, can it be set so that its only active for WiFi connections?

Android doesn't seem to be working for me. I've entered all the details correctly and when I connect to the VPN, it doesn't connect. Any ideas why? Great find though OP

I just tried on mine. It worked perfectly. Just make sure to follow the instructions where it says: "Make sure to enter PPTP as your vpn type and enter server address: se-vpn.frootvpn.com"

Hope it works for you.

When you first set up your VPN on Windows8, it starts. When you want to turn it off and run your own WiFi, just disconnect VPN from your network setting and leave WiFi as it was. It will turn off the VPN and you will be returned on WiFi as normal.

In the same way, on Android, go back to the same settings and select the VPN you just created, and click on disconnect. This will deactivate the VPN and you will be back on your normal WiFi.

Hope this helps.

when I go to download it I gt a lot of numbers and words

It seems odd that it doesn't have a Privacy Policy, just something people should keep in mind. oO

Voted hot anyway.

i got stock at the last step.

If you believe that it is anonymous you are off your rocker

"Be safe online - Avoid getting your password and other sensitive information intercepted by connecting to FrootVPN. All your data is encrypted while running our VPN service"

by opting to send my data through a 3rd party that I don't know? If theres one thing I know, its that there are certainly no people of questionable intentions on the net.....so it must be true.

Not saying that these folk aren't indeed genuine, I just have issue with the idea, unless Im missing something?

Thats not an ISP side thing, its that opt in censoring thing to prevent kids getting on filth or anything questionable like the above. Log in and clear the address, or disable that web safe thing and you should be alright

Thanks OP, it works. smooth. Noticed, google.com now shows google france.

You are unfortunately wrong. A system being secure and VPN are quite different.

The point of VPN is not to protect you from viruses or malware or hackers etc. it's there to allow you to browse anonymously (or that's the idea anyway). As an example, you could visit Netflix / Hulu and set your region (IP) as American and that way you can receive content which you normally wouldn't be able to from the UK.

You could also access sites which are normally blocked in your region - for example - piratebay or kat. by using a VPN.

Anyway, tons of info on big ol Google if you wanna learn more.

Does anyone know how well this works with torrents (p2p)? Will there be an impact on download speeds?

Either way, which VPN paid or unpaid would be the best for that sort of thing. Of course, I only download back-up content or things which I wish to try before purchasing
