This is the cheapest price I've found for the surface pro 4 from a good retailer, and includes a £10 discount on the bundle.

It's a laptop in a tablet form factor. If you want mobility, this is great.
Do you have other alternatives to something like this? (honest question as I need a very light laptop and this weights around 900 grams).

Surely you would buy from JL for £30 more, 2yrs at least warranty and better customer service

The lenovo yoga 900s are similar in size but with a better keyboard imo. Worth a look at before you buy.

Thanks, I just looked for it and it's comparable in all aspects (same or very similar cpu, ram, ssd and price) and a bit heavier (1.3kg). I'll see if I can find one in a currys to try out.

Thanks!

The following is a 12 inch tablet for £1000 ;-) As others have said the Surface is more of a ultra-mobile laptop.

I've used a surface pro 2 for the last year and it's outstanding. Can only dream of upgrading to this.

Friend of mine has used the Pro 3 for the last few years at Uni, I've recently stated using a Surface Book. Both are excellent, if you intend to use pen input regularly the Pro is excellent.

It's made my note taking far more organised and consistent, not to mention neater since I can erase bits and pieces instantly, plus then I can access them wherever via one drive. Handwritten math to text recognition is excellent too, it's far easier than writing them out manually in Word.

The only downside to the pro is that occasionally the kickstand makes it too deep to fit on a narrow surface comfortably (coffee shops, planes etc).
