Nice spot and from JL as well.
Are these really as powerful as a desktop pc? Fancy a change from a MacBook Pro and thinking this or a iPad Pro?

I bought one the other day, albeit the 128GB version, and stuck a decent (£20) 128GB card in
My thoughts are; yes, it is particularly the i7, a full-fat laptop replacement in a tablet. The caveat is that W10 just isnt optimized in the way iPads iOs is in tablet mode. It is entirely usable, but it is just not as smooth an experience. When using the type cover in laptop mode, the device works as well as the hardware (CPU) will allow, which is very good.
The type cover is good. Iris Plus graphics are genuinely potent. The newest Surface slim pen is a joy. Battery life is nowhere near stated. It's quite heavy. I got the Targus Signature Folio case for an absolute steal of £26 from an Amazon seller, and find it to be excellent.

It entirely depends on which desktop pc you're comparing it against. It will handle basic applications such as browsing and light gaming no problem.

Lol no
Thanks op got the £100 refund!

Also can’t rank the quality as I haven’t used it but 3 year accidental for £85 seemed a bargain.

They're brilliant PCs.
I've had a surface pro 4 i5 and it was blazing fast for office apps and browsing web and video.

However, try some photoshop or lightroom and it will start choking after a while.

New one is probably a lot better though as the new ones are quad core where my one was 2 cores with two threads.

No they arent as powerful as a desktop pc of the same price range, but none of the machines you mentioned are desktops either, and an iPad is just an overpriced toy.

How? Its still that lower price at currys but when I did their web form I just got this back...
"We checked with Currys and have found that the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 Tablet, Intel Core I5 Processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 12.3" PixelSense Display With Platinum Surface Pro Signature Type Keyboard Cover 82720316 is priced at £839; this means that currently the item is the same price with us, so we won’t be applying a price match on this occasion."

Think of them as alternatives to ultrabooks.
I ended up selling my Ipad Pro because this does so much more.
