Microsoft's Surface Pro 8 has the power of a laptop in a lightweight, versatile form. A 13" touchscreen and 8GB RAM help you create, relax and share without missing a beat, and the 120Hz refresh rate ensures everything on-screen feels super-fluid and responsive. The integrated Kickstand lets you set up wherever's most comfortable, with two 1080p cameras making video conferencing a cinch. It'll provide all the power, portability and productivity you need to make the most out of Windows 11.

Keep in contact
Thanks to the Surface Pro's onboard 1080p HD camera, this device, once connected to Wi-Fi, will let you take part in video chats or virtual meetings, enabling the fun of the office to come to you.

Intel Core i5
With an Intel Core i5 processor, you'll easily handle day-to-day tasks like word processing, image editing, web browsing and casual gaming.

The i5-1135G7 processor in this model features 8MB of cache and 4 cores that can adjust their speed depending on the complexity of the task they are working on, from 2.40GHz to 4.20GHz.

What is RAM?
RAM (Random Access Memory) is different to the permanent storage provided by hard disk drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD) or memory cards in your equipment. RAM is used by your device to temporarily store data to carry out everyday operations. The more RAM your machine has, the faster you can expect it to open and run programs.

A solid performer
Featuring 8GB of RAM, this computer has enough power for casual tasks like web browsing and word processing as well as more demanding jobs like complex spreadsheets and image manipulation. You'll be able to run a healthy number of windows at once without any obvious lag or slowdown.

Work anywhere
An integrated kickstand and 16 hours of battery life make the Surface Pro 8 easy to take with you and use anywhere. Featuring multiple positions, the kickstand can be adapted to your situation, letting you work comfortably at a desk, browse with ease on the sofa or take in a movie on a plane.

Speedy and reliable storage
This device features an SSD (Solid State Drive) for storage. These are renowned for how quickly they access data and also being good for mobile devices as they are highly resistant to knocks and bumps.

Dazzling display
With a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels, the Surface Pro 8's 13-inch PixelSense display ensures high contrast and low glare to deliver a breathtaking picture. Bright, vibrant and full of details, it's ideal for watching movies and editing images. Touchscreen technology will let you get hands-on with your apps, while the Surface Pen (sold separately) delivers the most natural and accurate writing and drawing experience yet, letting you take notes, mark up presentations, sign documents or get creative with art apps.

Photos, videos and sound Featuring a 5-megapixel front-facing HD camera and stereo microphone to make Skype calls to friends and family while you're on holiday and have video conferences with your colleagues on the other side of the world. The 10-megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera with 4K video recording to capture all your magic moments.

Please note: Microsoft Surface Pro Signature Type Keyboard Cover and Microsoft Surface Pro Pen are sold separately.

We can help you get set up
Our specialist in-store Partners can help you to get set up on your new device right away. We can help with anything from transferring personal data from your old device to setting up any essential features.

Switch to laptop mode
The Signature Type cover mimics the design of traditional keyboards to guarantee superior comfort and precision. The keys are slightly spread out to help improve your typing experience, while the large trackpad helps to improve scrolling and clicking.

Luxury fabrics
The cover is made of Alcantara, which is sourced from Italy and used to create high-end goods, and will age beautifully, growing darker over time. It feels soft and has a stain-resistant finish for exquisite feel and functionality.

Preserves battery life
Keys are automatically disabled when the Surface Pro Type Cover is flipped back, so you won't start typing when you just want to browse. Closing the Signature cover will put your Surface Pro 8 / Surface Pro X to sleep, helping to save battery power when you're not using it.

Yeah definitely. It's nice to have the option, it's just a more expensive option. This is a very good deal though, especially with 3 yr warranty on top

True, it would still would be nice to have both options and I do have one in my SP4. But at least if the SSD dies now you can replace it and not potentially have a worthless device!

Agree. The SD card reader made it a great travel companion. For me, SSD and SD have different uses so the loss of SD is a disappointment.

Why would you want to add extremely slow storage to a powerful device like this? Either bite the bullet and pay for the high speed storage you need or replace the SSD with a larger one. Microsoft made the right call

Nearly £900 and only 8GB of ram the storage is a joke 128GB these should start at 256GB

ssd port is quite useful when you are a photographer/videographer not having to carry around a usb hub with an sd reader everywhere you go

Can't say if the price is relatively high for the given cpu/ram/storage spec. I have bought surface pro 6 about 3years ago for my secondary school my child and its perfect. The screen is high res, the web camera is superior to even Dell XPS. Thouchscreen and the use of surface pen adds a different dimensions for creativity. Never used the SD card feature. The keyboard can be folded up when not i use to clear space on desk. So for students, the spec and the portability is reasonably good.

Yes they made the right call for Microsoft. It stops people using the SD card for cheap storage that doesn't need to be fast, or for getting files off cameras and other devices like that. The problem for Microsoft is that it did mean you didn't have to spend more on fast storage you didn't necessarily need.

Point taken. That is a sensible use case. Sorry, I can't ever see it coming back.

The Surface Pro 7+ kept the Micro SD slot, but buying one of those loses out on some of the newer feature of the SP8.

As others have alluded to, the biggest issue with these devices is the 8GB RAM, it noticeably slows down when you try to multitask even basic things.

I own an SP6 Pro (i5/8gb/256gb), it's a fantastic machine and I love it, I have really tried to make it my desktop replacement (with official dock and dual monitor setup). Unfortunately the lack of RAM has enough of an impact that I will almost certainly have to get a desktop/laptop in the near future and save this for occasional "work on the road" type work.

At this price, 8GB RAM is really pushing it running on a heavy desktop class operating system these days. Many Android smartphones have more.

The Surface Pro 8 is an incredible device, great display, processing performance is adequate, and 128GB storage is easily doable with cloud storage. Just unfortunate they don't start with more RAM, but of course upselling is all part of the game.

Can someone enlighten me how a Surface in general compares to an IPad? I have never looked into a surface as I am not a MS OS fan but would like to understand the advantages from a user perspective when it comes to the Surface.
