Been looking for a mixer for the mother in law for Christmas and this seems like a really good price when the "named" ones go for nearly double.

There is also a Kenwood one on sale at £150 if you want the better make.

For a first mixer, it looks pretty good. If your MiL is an experienced cook though, this is unlikely to be powerful enough as it's only 600w. I'd spend a bit more on the £95 kenwood (900w) in AO, or maybe shop around elsewhere. A nice mixer is currently on my dream shopping list atm, looking for around 1000w for as close to zero pounds as possible :v Which unfortunately means I know what I'm talking about. BBO etc have a lot to answer for, making manufacturers come out with all these pretty machines with low power to sell to people who haven't done their research, so they buy cheap & buy twice when they learn they need a lot more oomph to do what they've seen on TV.

I agree. I've learnt my lesson that way . I need a new one - have you seen the aldi 1000w one ? It's online and always in store . Usually reduced to 129:99 on the sticker , I was thinking about that as can't go much higher price wise .
