This strikes me as a good deal. An 8 camera set up with a leading brand name displayed.

Let's face it - if people see you 'appear' to have CCTV they're unlikely to do anything to your property or car. They're not to know if they're real or not, and they certainly appear real, plus with the stickers you get it will certainly look like you have a multi camera set up. Perhaps add these to a real set up of one of two cameras to give the impression your place is like Fort Knox!

Ideal if you can't afford a multi camera CCTV set up or even a basic camera set up. Anybody that breaks into your home or car that knows you have CCTV are likely not to care and don't expect to get caught (probably because their face is covered.

So basically prevention is surely better than catching people after they've done your place over!

pointless, you will spend all that time installing it when it wont take much more effort to install a basic real one. if you cant afford it just start with a basic single camera one then add to it as you can afford it

My mum and dad's former next door neighbour, who passed away recently, had a fake alarm on his house. He was a bit of a skint flint and put it up in the 70's / 80's when alarms were a lot more expensive. It's basically just a rectangular biscuit tin painted yellow with three black alphabetical characters screwed onto the front that were taken off an old fashioned style car registration plate! It's still there today.

If you can afford a house big enough for 8 fake cameras why not just buy the real thing?

Er....this is what I've suggested. If you can only buy a one or two camera system, you can add these to make it look a lot more beefed up.

And spend time installing what exactly? Drilling 2 holes for each camera and putting them up? There are no REAL wires to install? A quick 10 minute job that might just save your house being burgled or your car vandalised!

I think an empty alarm box would probably be a more effective deterrent.

At that price, you could buy 3-4 crappy, but real outdoor cmos cameras, or two reasonable 1/3" Sony CCD outdoor cameras off ebay, and use them as dummy cameras until you could afford to buy a cheap DVR.

Alternatively, you could just about cover the cost of 1 real outdoor wifi enabled IP camera.

Or just stick some man traps in your garden. A lot cheaper and a hell of a lot more effective.

A very quick google finds them cheaper here:- amazon.co.uk/Swa…IO2

or here microdirect.co.uk/hom…eps

The domes don't look real, but at least they don't have one of those silly flashing led lights, you see on many dummies.
