Is this for external use only?
No disrespect, but you can get a 1080p Neos Smartcam from Amazon for £25, and you can turn off the infrared LEDs if wanting to use through a window (no idea if this one does)
The Neos only works through a smartphone, so might put some off (I got it to work through an emulator on my pc though)

None taken, also thank you for your helpful comment
Have you bought one, would be interesting to compare what the app allows you to do Vs the Neos (motion sensing, cloud storage etc.)

Wow it's got really bad reviews... Can anyone recommend a sub-£30 IP camera which I can connect to my own ftp server and see the picture through a regular browser, without all those crappy subscription clouds? I was considering one of the YI cameras but apparently you can only use them through the provided app, that's disappointing

A workaround would be to use an emulator on the pc.
FYI, the Neos cam server records 12 second clips, which is free and it keeps them for 2 weeks

Be aware, neos camera record only 12 second when there is a movement of something or someone, after the 12 seconds Neos is taking 5 minutes to cool down, so in these 5 min the camera won't be able to record, you may from smartphone, but obviously that's the whole point on movement detection until is there need to record, not just stop after 12 seconds, you may not catch the face of who is getting into your car or house

I think if you put an SD card in, it records 24/7, so you'd go to that in the event and needing more (but you'd have to take the card out to view)

Unless the burglar took the card out.

I don't have a problem with individual recordings only being 12 seconds but the 5 minute cooldown is what is stopping me buying a neos. If more movement is detected after 12 seconds it should start a new recording straight away. I don't want a recording of my window being smashed and a leg entering my house followed by 5 minutes of nothing while they clear me out and then a clip of them disappearing out of the door.

No burglar is going to break into your house and NOT take the SD card away with them so recording to SD is no good at all for home security.
