Dang, if it was only the 5mp PoE ones on sale
BNC a bit yesteryear but i guess it still has its uses probably why its on sale.
RJ45 and POE is where its at cat!
BNC vs POE is like B.C. vs A.D.
You can get a set of 4 with hardrive for about 200 ish from screwfix and amazon and for a basic home cctv system there very good , clear picture day and night and alerts via your phone along with hd.
Very impressed with the true detect. I upgraded to these from an older system about a month ago and haven't had a false detection yet. Older systems motion detection goes off every few minutes and was pointless.
Great deal if you're looking to add cams to an existing system - if starting from scratch you'd probably be better picking up something like a set of Reolink 5mp 410 POE cams. I got a pair of them for £90 from Amazon last week to add to my system.
Just to add swann is a recognised company and you do get firmware updates compared to Chinese junk that sell it you and forget you with zero security updates

FWIW I've had quite a few firmware updates on my YI cam's over the last few years... Not saying they are as good as these, but they do update the firmware.

The 1080P BNC gear is usually excellent image quality and value IMO. Nothing like the old BNC analogue cameras and actually a more modern solution than standard IP cameras. Each have their benefits: discount-security-cameras.net/hd-…spx

Yes that is what i said poe can have a lot of electrical issues and if you dont use properly shielded and plenum rated cabling outside you are in trouble i have seen it a few times installing systems!

The biggest advantage of BNC is the cable length but with rj45 you have to add in repeaters which adds more single points of failure!

As I said each has its advantages.

To me this looks like a great deal but to be fair CCTV is not my strong point, i am trying to research as much as possible as in the market for a decent 4 cam system. But after my poor experience with ring products and multiple false alarms every day due to insects and rain these sensor cams seem the way to go.

What do you think of THIS deal from amazon? Same system is £400 from screwfix.
Anybody else tried the Blink XT2 cameras? I bought a set of 5 from amazon the other day but only had time to put one up so far, seems pretty good so far. Motion alerts seem to be pretty rapid and the quality/features for something that runs off 2 aa batteries is amazing
