I just purchased this budget router from play.com to replace my old buffalo unit which was 2 times the price. I must say I am very impressed with it for the money as signal strength and reliability are just as good. The unit seems to be built much like a link sys. I had this unit up and running in 5 minutes.

This is the same unit that dabs are selling as their dabs value brand so if you would like to check out some reviews then look here:

The only negative side I have found to this unit so far is that it can only work in 802.11g mode so if you have any wireless devices that are 802.11b then its best to avoid this unit. e.g. wii owners

Personally I'd get a good Linksys or Netgear router off ebay which you can pick up for the same price and will be more configurable and reliable than this one.

I've used Sweex networking equipment before without issue. Sweex may be a re-badge of other manufacturer's kit, and this item seems to have more than a passing physical resemblance to Linksys kit !

so Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
Or passing-off to the gullible ?

Or ... who knows ... as a passing resemblance doesn't really mean anything definite.

Flipd's comment was an observation of the physical appearance without any hint to the actual internal design content of the unit.
Any (non)recommendation is provided by liddleninja in ]post #3 who appears to have first-hand knowledge of the Sweex item and suggests that Linksys items are more configurable.
