doubt very much the cashback from wepromiseto and FD will both pay out.

and Just transfer your salary/income of at least £1,500 per month within three months and we will add £100 to your account.

Also

Is there a charge to bank with first direct?

Banking with first direct usually costs £10 a month, but it's free when you pay in at least £1500 to your 1st Account each month, or hold a selected first direct additional product, or maintain an average monthly 1st Account balance of £1500.

Interesting this cash-back site is also the same as Money Saving Cash-back but they only pay £40...how many other aliases do they have?

Im with first direct. I think they are fab. I wish this deal was on when I joined them. Heat added.

Do they credit check you for this?

Me too, but ive been with them for 15 years and back then it was only a £50 credit I think, I can't fault them or the service at all, you can get round the £10 fee by having a savings account with them (£1 balance) or any other service.

Also ive had calls where they review your accounts and they have given me better interest rates (than those advertised) for being a good customer.......... I'm a sucker for a bit of patter I know but they didn't have to call and offer me better rates I was a loyal customer anyway!!!

surely if get my wages 40k paid into this account its a no brainer? would anyone disagree, from the above posts though most people sound happy enough? Hmmm decisions.....:?

One thing bugging me - how do you pay cheques in? is this possible? Just read various reviews online and generally people are positive, BUT ... as long as you stay in the black, it seems if you go overdrawn they are a bit of a nightmare, and the charges are £ 25 per day overdrawn, cant remember the last time i was in the red but its nice to know if the unthinkable happened you could rely on your bank to be understanding or am i being naive?

At any branch of HSBC either at the counter or using the Paying In machines thus avoiding queues because I find hardly anybody else uses the machines.
