Theres a 30% discount sale on at Sygic for android or apple.

This is a great app but theres an extra 20% discount which makes this deal unique.

I've just bought "Sygic GPS Navigation Offline for Android (Western Europe)" for £18.37. usual price £34.99, sale price £24.49.

Add the product to cart as normal, and then when checking out use code/coupon code 1458554694429 to drop price even more.

IIRC UK+Ireland map price ends up £13.12 with sale + code above, if thats all you want/need.

forgot to mention website says lifetime updates for app and maps. So fill your boots :-)

I loved Sygic when I used it (and have voted hot) but I'm surprised that people are willing to spend this money when google Maps exists.

Does anyone know if that coupon code also works when buying the iOS version through iTunes?

How is it more useful?, does it have better maps?, does it have better features?. It looks pretty primitive based on the google play info. I can't see how its better, genuine question!

Requires internet connection, I don't have a data tariff so useless to me, also some areas out in the sticks barley get a phone signal, forget data. oO

Also, I bought the Euromaps from my post above, no data charges when I drive abroad, wonder what the costs are for these inet only solutions?

Google maps is useless if you haven't got Internet connection. Sygic is trully offline sat nav.

Not a great solution, but I think you can cause google maps to download your route over wifi before you leave home.

Yes I think you can but that's only really for one journey. If however you are making multiple journeys, like when you're on holiday, then the off line capability comes in to it's own.

Yeah but does that allow for details when making a last minute diversion?. I think googlemaps and others like it definitely have their place in the navigation world, but they are not the same as Sygic. they don't for example give warnings for speed cameras that you get for free with Sygic. Maybe you can download those, the point is I didn't have to faff about it all just works.

Also can send current location, use normal coordinates (i think navfree doesn't support those), and so many other features. Like they say, you pays your money (or not) and you makes your choice. this deal is for those who might want a paid for solution, for whatever reason :-)

Navfree is a good offline alternative but the maps are not as good, a plus point is the interface is simpler, however osmand is:-
Free
Offline navigation
Voice turn by turn
Speed cameras
Supports waypoints
Accepts gpx downloads
Position by SMS
Uses vector maps, smaller data requirement than raster
Can import user generated maps, try 'mobac' fairly simple interface.

sygic has so many neat touches that I have never found in the 'premium' sat nav like TomTom & navigon - if you just want some A-Z directions then google maps will do the trick, but if you want lots of geeky things then Sygic at this price is very hot

Other than being "free" Sygic does most of the above and then some, so how is is better?. The list of features of Sygic are too numerous to list, best take a look here

I was going to buy that too, only I noticed world isn't all the maps. Their definition of world is different to everyone else's X)

Perhaps you missed the bit where I added some actual value by providing a link to the list of features?. Again, thanks for your input its appreciated nevertheless.

How does it work if you want to buy additional maps, I've had a look on the Sygic pages but it's not clear as I assume you don't buy the full package again as the price difference between western Europe and full Europe isn't much whereas Western Europe and Eastern Europe are a lot more expensive.

I've tried Google Maps a few times but found it to be poor compared to Tomtom, the amount of data you can cache seems small and the routing seemed too biased towards shorter routes over longer but quicker roads.

I'd imagine the price you see is the price you pay, I don't think any discount would be applied. So you might have to buy the maps and any overlap would be ignored and and not refunded.

I suppose you could email them but I'd be surprised if it wasn't as I said.

There is some explanation about discounts on maps here

I missed the bit about you being respectful of other opinions instead of being dismissive, 'other than being' , I'm happy for you to disagree but not dismissive when I had provided my reasons for my opinion. Nevertheless pleased to see you appreciated my comment aimed at your obvious intellectual level.

Great deal.
I love Sygic, and downloaded it a while ago when it was still free.
Unfortunately that version stopped working for some reason.
This is the best offline android naviation I have found.
This deal finally made me purchase, rather than uninstalling after the free trial which I installed for a recent trip to France.
All of europe for £23.24 is a great deal.

Why it's more expensive to buy less maps for example eastern europe than europe maps during the offers. Are there less details in the europe map?
