Wow! Was in the Filton store today and didn’t see these but great find, my girls love Sylvanians! 🏻
How is it possible that products like this still exist when every single day there's masses of stories all over the news about climate change; the need for recycling; excessive wasteage etc.?

These products are the epitome of waste. They are literally designed so that you feel compelled to buy multiple of them because you don't know what's going to be inside. If you want to "collect them all" you therefore need to purchase more than necessary unless you're enormously lucky and get one of each toy each time you buy.

Moreover these - and the atrocious and unforgivably wasteful "LOL Surprise" toys - use tons of needless packaging to make it "more exciting" for kids to open them. This is off the back of YouTube unboxing videos which kids seem to be obsessed with.

Just look at this - I dare you to attempt to justify products like this:

Are you hoping all toys to be made of wood? Often people keep Sylvanian family toys for years - I know a family that have kept them through two generations. Just as my kids play with the Lego I had 40 years ago. You wouldn’t need to collect all of them and any baby figure can be played with with or without other sets. I would suspect the packaging is just the bag.
Sylvanian families aren't comparable to the hideous lol doll range. And the bag will be just the packaging same as if it came in a box. Yes paper or card would be preferable but it's not in the same league as a lol doll surprise capsule.
