T-Mobile ... Flext is changing! New + Existing Customers

I got a message from T-Mobile yesterday to say flext is changing.

So I called t-mobile cs today and found out the following info:-

The following will be included in your flext price plan allowance

* Calls to voicemail
* Some 08 and 05 numbers
* Some International calls (loads of countries i didnt make a list)

The charges for voicemail will be 12p per min

International charges are a bit higher i think it was 58p per min for landline and 98p per min for mobiles

These charges will be deducted from your monthly allowance

You will also receive free web'n walk

This deal is available to both existing and new customers.

If you are an exsisting customer you need to call to be transfered over to the new plan they wont change it automatically ( it dont cost any extra )

Call tmobile for more info ... (150 from your handset)

When I was on the old flext I had my voicemail calls included but my latest flext (40) dont! they changed it somewhere down the line lol

Cheers for the info Nikki. I was on flext 35 for 3 years and when I was due an upgrade in December T-Mobile informed me that I wasn't entitled to a handset as I wasn't a high user as I never go over the flat £35.00 a month. They said if I needed/wanted a new phone I'd have to cancel my existing contract and then take out a new one.
I opted for flext 40 as I was losing my unlimited off peak calls so needed something with more inclusive minutes, an offer at the time meant I got flext 40 for a pound more than I was paying for flext 35.
I couldn't understand why I kept going over the flat rate of £36.00 per month so I looked online and every time I'd dialled voicemail I'd been charged extra for it which is something that had never happened in the previous 3 years that I'd been with them.

I hope it's right about 08 and 05 numbers. I have to say i'm getting pretty p****d off with paying for price plans only to find that every day more and more businesses are using 08 and 05. Doesnt matter whether its for your gas, electric, water, sky, council tax, insurance etc etc. It's getting beyond a joke. Pretty soon it'll be pointless having an inclusive price plan. Hopefully t-mobile are the first to blink to include them in your plan.

08 numbers suck.... i always check them on 'saynoto0870 ' webpage as there is usually an 0800 or 01 alternative

i got told the same as im planning my upgrade which is in may and due to being on friends and fmaily thus 50% line rental i was told id get £50-75 off a phone dependent on how much ive used 'over' my flext (so nothing!) and the guy advised me to start a new contract as then id start a fresh, hwoever lose my 50% line rental...but of course im just hoping to get someone to add me back onto it! :-D

This seems to be true:

The international calls included with Flext Allowance looks tasty - I wonder if it includes all destinations, or just Europe/USA.

im on flext 25 and get charged 12p for voicemail. whats this new price-plan called?

voice mail chargeing has been in plaace since early last year

i just ring my own number to get round that

the problem with being added to it again is that if you are, its no longer for life. Only until the employee who gave out the discount leaves the company in which case, you lose the discount (unless you never upgrade but the majority always will) so the 50% discount is not as good now as it used to be. I believe they are advising people to disconnect so they are no longer on the 50% for life so in theory, it doesnt cost them as much.

Confused about this thread.........

My wife had cause to phone T-mobile last night (Flext 30) as a new customer (formerly on Orange). She was told that ALL Flext plans were now charged for accessing voicemail.

She asked why MY T-mobile plan had this included and was told that it must be because I'm on an old plan.

Already wishing she'd stuck with Orange.

If you upgrade through dialaphone you get a much better deal, for instance I got a Nokia N95 + £120 cashback (by redemption) on exactly same contract with Orange. Whilst Orange wanted me to pay £150 for the phone!!!! + no cashback (no brainer ;-) )

According to this link its only for people on Flext 40 or above - no use to me on my Flext 25

This thread goes to prove why O2 are far and away the best mobile operator. Voicmemail is free, MMS txts come off your bundle, customers services are great and retentions offer you great discounts. I dunno why anyone bothers with the rest

sure the 08 numbers are going to be 0800 style numbers and not 0870?

By the way 0870s are no longer premuim anyway from August 09

Yes and if your overseas sending texts home come out of your bundle which is great!

This is good, but only if you're on the £30/month and above tariffs, T-Mobile are trying to phase Flext out (it was a marketing exercise to get more base customers, and it worked, for a while, they added several million contract customers when they launched it...) and as a result, there's only a few tariffs to pick from now in which this will be reflected.

For example, my boyfriend has a T-Mobile contract in my name, and it's on the old Flext 25 tariff, so if I changed it, the cost would have to go up to £30 from £25, not so good...

they have new tarrifs.or are phasing out old tarrifs, im on a old flext 35 with £180 spend, when i ugraded last year they offerend me the same flext 35 but with £200 spend and charges to voicemail @ 12p.

i think you need to read the small print.

NO IS THE ANSWER. JUST CALLED T MOBILE, TOLD THEM I AM AN EXISTING CUSTOMER, ASKED ABOUT THE FREE MOBILE INTERNET AND THEY SAID NO. THEY CHARGE £7.50 FOR IT:thinking::thinking::thinking:

Certainly when I signed up 18 months ago, business Flext packages included voicemail, personal customers didn't get it (which is why I've got it through their business section!).

Looks like an interesting refresh, shame I'm cancelling as I've moved to o2....

ask them about flext-refresh tarrif, tell them to look it up

you cant get free web and walk on your current plan, its extra.

if you switch to the new flext refresh then you will get the benefits.

So if you are on Flext 35 and paying for web n walk, then will it be cheaper to move to flex 40?

all mobile operators are thieving scum, the industry is shameful and must be destroyed

Maybe once they included free internet rather than charging over £7 for it

i am an exisiting customer, upgraded in october last year on 18 month contract, so got another 12 left i guess. I have 50% discount, and pay half price for internet aswel. I rang them up like you all suggested to move to the new flext 40 plan, and they said, we can't switch you over because your on a minimum 18 month contract, after 18 months we have no problem in switching you over to this new plan and offering you an upgrade. This is fair enuf, but i hate being charged for voicemail.

Nice change - changed mine from Flext 35 + web n walk ---> Flext 40 (included free weekend calls + web n walk)

but only effective from April.... maybe a good start to utilize unltd weekend calls for the april long weekend!

there is a detailed discussion over at the whatmobile forums with input from T-Mobile staff

It seems people are split over if this is a bargain as 08 numbers are charged at 40p out of your bundle

Just called T-Mobile who reffered to this new Tarrif as FLEXT 2009. Yes it does exist but only on £40/Month contract. Sod paying £40!

Cold for me.

How do you get unlimited weekend calls ?

like the sound of this !

Just called t-mobile and changed my plan flext 35 over to the new flext 35. so am now getting all the extras from tommorow!

thanks

i think the new tarrif is called flext refresh and its for all orignal flext tarrifs

see here and open up the click on the new flext plans near the bottom

I like this deal, i was paying £30 per month for flext 35 which included free weekend calls. Now i am on flext 40 paying £40 a month.

So for £10, i get web n walk, calls to 08 numbers and international calls and texts inclusive. I think thats brilliant personally since i spend more time calling and texting abroad then i do for the uk.

Ummm, it IS free on £35/month contracts, just choose it as your free bolt-on (ie 600 minutes, 1000 texts, free voicemail, mms included in texts and unlimited free internet).
