Same price as last deal direct from T-mobile but no cashback but loads of extras so hotter for me.
Just reserved one as my current phone lacks WiFi which will be useful.

T-mobile expired deal - hotukdeals.com/dea…410

Just be aware that the original T-Mobile pulse has low memory for applications ?? ( I think with Android 2.1 this will have ONLY 40mb for new applications ) I would recommend the LG GT540 Here?

YES It's MORE expensive but gives MUCH more room for applications ? Thats just my 2p worth anyway ?? ;-)

My phone says: 102Mb available space (i installed some apps already) and 1.89Gb on the SD card that comes with the unit (2Gb)

You can always install apps2SD

Reserved one - missus needs a phone and despite inital searches suggesting the phone can jam up I suspect that having a decent application killer running in the background that will solve the problem and as for applications I imagine she wont use many, I only use about 5 or 6 on my HTC Hero, quite surprised it comes with a flash for a entry level smartphone as mine does not.

Spot on! Heat

Anyone know if my HTC Hero supplied from T-Mobile as the G2 Touch can be updated to 2.1?

I have this phone and as my first android device i am impressed, it does most things well, the only real downside [for me] is a low-res screen and a resistive touch screen

I agree resistive touch is a bit funny to get used to again (and the OS isn't particularly kind to resistive screens). I bought this phone because i lost my T-Mobile G1 and I am in a contract for a good while yet...So I didn't want to spend too much...This will see me through until renewal time...

The low-res (ish) screen is not an issue for me...I don't watch anything that would require anything more...

Yes you simply go to settings on your phone and check for updates you will have to do this in 2 parts, had mine about a month ago,I now use google maps and now bluetooth enabled. You DO NOT have to root the phone

Does the low resolution screen pose serious drawbacks?
The LG GT540 has double the resolution and is only 0.2 inch larger.

My hero is rooted and now has a 2.1 rom on it but its true the official 2.1 update is out for the hero tho im not sure if the t-mobile version of 2.1 has been released.

Thanks for the help - I cant see where I check for updates in settings...

I contacted T-Mobile and they had no information on when they would be releasing the 2.1 for the G2 Touch.

The T-mobile advisor is not giving you the correct info, mine is on T-mobile and as I said the update to 2.1 is live. Go to settings then right down the bottom click on "about phone" then at the very top click on "system software updates" then just click Check now

Have a read of this for more info on Updating the Hero to 2.1Your text here

I dont have the "system software updates" just have status, legal information and system tutorial
