T mobile offered me a retention deal of 1000 minutes unlimited texts unlimited internet ( 3 gb fair use but is unlimited as I am on old contract and they will not charge me for extra usage) and 60 international minutes for £11.99 for sim only 12 months contract.

Voting Cold for 2 reasons.

1) Retention deals are very user specific, as mentions OP has an old contract so the 3gb limit doesn't apply.

2) Virgin Mobile offer an almost similar deals, 1200mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet for just £5 a month. Granted no international mins but it's only a 30day contract.

Can you tether on either of these

thats the exact deal i got in september last year, im now over the moon to say that on saturday i can give my 30 days notice as they charged me for exceeding the 3GB fair usage 6 times so far this contract. From £8 for 600 odd kb's of data (yes kb's not mb's) to 35£ for 500mb, not knowing how they work this out and that i wasnt informed that my old contract that allowed me to browse unlimited after my allowance was used had now changed to this new policy that they no longer inform customers of, i called them to be told they too have no idea how the data is charged, that it will allow me to use more data over the 3gb and be charged for it each time i exceed it, but cannot put me on to anyone that could explain how much and for what.

up yours t-mobile retention, good riddance.

lol I got the same deal for 10 pounds a month on a 30 day roling contract!!

Yep think that's what's happened to me. It's not t mobile anymore it's EE so that's the reason! I used to get a warning text saying I had used 80% of data . Not anymore so infact my retention deal with its new extra charges for god knows what makes it worse than my old deal I was on for for years. They want everyone off the old t mobile tarriffs and push them onto new EE ones . Wish they had never changed from one2one

Just renewed 2 on same deal having cancelled then got grovelling call the following day! 30 day rolling swung it for me as you can bail out when a better deal comes up.

Shengis you do have to use the search function & read down the posts to see how much each person gets. Do you want me to screen shot my contract for you?

BUT as i said, this is a retention deal so not everyone gets offered the same!

Happened to me on the additional line. I will say it again. Ever since they've merged it's nothing but pain.

Its not a set DEAL....its about when, how, who you speak to at Virgin to get a deal.
COLD

The best deal from them seems to be ;
3000 minutes
Unlimited texts
Unlimited data
£5 per month.

Takes time and a bit of bantering with them to get that.

I called to cancel my Orange contact, they offered unlimited mins & data and 9gb 4G data simo for £20. Had a think about it but still cancelled my contract. Going to move to 3

Wow nice

drharishgarg - I would call T-Mobile back and get them to offer you a much better deal!

Use Virgin mobile as an example.

Also do a search for the Sim Only Mega Thread, will give you an example of what other companies will offer new customers.

I've been with Virgin for a year now & every 3 months I call them up for a better offer.

I started off on Essential £12. this when down to £9, then £8, then stuck at that price for 6 month until last month when I got offered the cheap deal everyone else was on about.

The next step is getting the 3000mins but I expect that will take another 6 months

So true! I hope Kevin bacon has to call up and get id checked then get put through to multiple different department ! EE make banks look good

It's not t mobile anymore it's EE

I think you may be correct in what you mean, but T-mobile is still a separate company - it is managed by EE, but not owned by or part of it (T-mobile & Orange own EE). Don't feel too bad - the staff get that wrong too.

EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE AKA T MOBILE IS THE WORST EVER COMANY WHO RIP OFF THERE CUSTOMERS.

MY MUMS NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET A SIGNAL OR THREE MONTHS. EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE SAYS ITS THE LOCAL MAST THAT'S DOWN BUT STILL CHARGE HER AND SHE CAN'T BREAK CONTRACT OR GET COMPENSATION.
IM WITH THREE (3) and if MY NETWORK IS DOWN A FEW DAYS, THREE GIVE ME A WHOLE MONTHS LINE RENTAL BACK AS COMPENSATION.

READ THE EE COMPAINTS PAGE ON THE NET OR WATCH THE BBC WATCHDOG PROGRAM, YOU WILL BE SHOCKED.

O2 we all need oxygen lol

I called to leave on got offered 3000mins/3gb for £16.99 or 1000 mins/3g for £14.99 = they wouldn't budge.

I'm now with Three.

it depends on what advisor you get...some are complete jobsworths and others will bend over backwards. if I get an awkward or unreasonable advisor, then I hang up and call back!!

All staff now work for EE though. They all got contracts changed over about 18 months ago if not longer.

Unlimited internet BUT with 3GB limit. Hmm your not getting unlimited internet.

I've been with T-Mob for about 3 years and i've had no problems, i pay £15 a month for
300 mins
either u/l landline calls and 300 texts OR u/l texts
u/l internet (with no limitations at all due to having had the contract before they brought in the limits)

I regularly use over 5Gb and they can't do anything about it they keep offering me better deals (for them). As for not charging you once you sign the new deal you will be on a new tarrif and the old one will not exists anymore therefore they can and will charge you for going over the 3Gb limit.

Yeah I probably should have tried that but I got the PAC while on the phone and thought I'd flee from EE while I had my get out jail card!

Nope - the owners of t-mobile & orange created EE, a jointly owned company, to manage both Orange & T-mobile - some of their staff don't even know exactly the detail. Not of great importance.
