news to me, there have been loads of threadless deals on this site in the past

Maybe your right then. Remember reading that a while ago, will double check

"Please note, we do not allow:
Referrals
3rd party affiliate links
Amazon marketplace deals
eBay auctions / eBay based sellers
Self-promotion of any kind
Spam
Non-UK sites (excluding a few major sites, pre-approved by admin) "

But guess it might be one of the sites allowed then, although I can't see a list of approved sites.

Sorry ^^

I have definitely seen Threadless deals on this site before.

 no problem, but yeah i guess threadless is one of those pre-approved sites then

the art prints they do are a good bargain, down from $35 to $15

Think you safely assume that ]threadless is an approved merchant...

voted hot from me.

Hi I've never ordered from the US before.
I went a bit crazy and ordered 14 shirts at $5 each
postage came to $45
Total=$115

Does anyone know if/how much customs will charge?
I've never ordered outside the UK before so i'm a bit unfamiliar.
I googled the UK customs website after i've ordered. The way i read it it seems it's better to order several small orders rather than large orders?

But then postage costs are cheaper in bulk.
Can anyone with more experience shed some light.

Cheers

will vote this deal hot - once i've discovered how (this is my first ever comment...)

click on the little red arrow beside the temperature!

click on the scale's beside the OP's name to give rep.

As for customs charge, i have only ever ordered 1 or 2 tshirts at a time and have never been hit with any charges

Anything over £18 will be hit by customs. You might be shocked...

Alas my order is already being packed so i cant cancel it and reorder in smaller instalments
These guys are way too efficient!

Well, lets hope that customs dont take the total cost incl shipping to work out their percentage...

This WAS the case, but I recall they changed it last year. I cant remember the exact amount but its now £100+.

EDIT: money.co.uk/art…htm

'The new rules, announced on November 14th by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), revealed that people shopping online will no longer need to pay the duty on purchases from outside the EU worth up to £105 from December 1st'

Wrong. That refers to DUTY added, not VAT and customs charge incurred by the handler.

i remember that the sweet spot for ordeing from threatless was 3 t-shirts, people buying 3 were never hit by customs but anything other does get hit, ordering 10+ t-shirts and you should be hit 99% of the time, i ordered a dvd box set from guernsey i think and i had to pay the tax on the box set and the insurance (so double the cost) on it plus the handling fees etc! so it really does all add up, luckily the seller paid me it all back!

The magic threshold for import VAT on non-EU import goods is still £18.

You can only hope that the shipment gets past HMRC without them noticing it. However, when it's coming from an official retailer like Threadless, the chances of that happening are minute.

If your order gets intercepted, you can expect to get stung for the following:

- Import VAT @ 17.5%
- Royal Mail handling fee @ ~£10

Bear in mind that shipping charges are not subject to any of these charges though, so you're looking at the above charges being applied to a value of $60 (14 x $5).

Given the weakness of the pound, I'd say you could well be looking at around £20 worth of charges.

I've never been hit and had 3 orders of 7 at a time. I paid the store a visit whilst I was in the neighbourhood too, pretty cool.

Could tick the gift option box and billing info does not appear on invoice. Be harder for them to hit you with VAT.

Voted this cold based on postage being £6+, only worthwhile if your buying in bulk.

My deals has been removed when it was non-UK registred company.

so for three t-shirts at $5 each postage is $15 which makes the total £21.40, which brings it over the £18? i thought postage used to be cheaper there!

Im pretty sure they dont put the postage amount on the parcel.

The postage price is not included in the £18 limit. It is the intrinsic value of the item only.

It is better value to buy 2 than it is to buy 3! 2 cost $19 inc postage, 3 cost $30.

there are some non-UK company's which have been pre-approved, threadless being one of them

Not bought anything from them in a while...just grabbed a couple of $10 tees and used up all my street team points

Thanks!
