Any 1 know if the TRVs work with nest?

They don’t work with nest in so much as they won’t talk to each other, but they can be used on any radiator, regardless of what controls the rest of the heating system. We use them and have nest, but if the TRV wants heat, but the nest is off, the TRV just has to wait until nest puts the heating back on.
Loving mine that I got with the BT £140 deal from hear.

Wasnt expecting it to drop again so heat added

now just for a deal on the valves
What makes these Special Edition (other than the price reduction)?
Just a warning lads the tev's rarely go below £59.99. I've had the system installed for 4 months and it that time the price hasn't dropped.
Other than the price of the tev's it's a great system. Very easy to use app & good customer service.

Does anyone know any more information on this: (Optional) Smart Climate Assistant can be purchased in app
I can't seem to find any reference to this on the Irish Tado web shop, nor can I seem to find out any pricing details for it from a web search. Also I'm curious also what makes this a special edition as opposed to the standard v3 starter kit?

Great find btw.

I can concur as I've been monitoring the prices of the TRVs for a year.

Only time they were reduced was Amazon Prime Day last summer when they went to £35.

Also I expect that Tado will release improved versions sometime this summer, for both TRVs and thermostat, so depends if you can wait.
Apparently the difference between v3 and SE is that with SE you will have to pay £1.95 per month for using Smart Climate Assistant. RIP OFF.
Also, if you won’t use the paid service for at least 6 months, the Energy Saving Guarantee is not valid

that's a joke so.. the whole selling point are those smart features and they want to sell it at a monthly fee? I knew it looked odd when there was no mention of a paid for app service on the Irish site. The £50 savings so are essentially wiped out depending on how long you stay subscribed, and most certainly over the life of the system.

Is this serious?? Looks like the "Smart Assisstant" stuff is just the usual normal smart features... no?

Yes, it is serious. I contacted them and that's what they said. The worst thing is that they don't say that clearly on their website. This is a disgusting sales technique. Shame Tado, I think I'll look into Drayton instead.

This absolutely would be disgusting business practices. Especially given how so many people have bought into their products based on these features being part of that initial sales pitch. To now go and charge extra for features that were already paid-for would be theft imo!

There must surely be some consumer protection board or something that would step to prevent such shady practices?! Really hope it's a misunderstanding and they don't go down this route.

There’s nothing saying that existing users will have to pay for these features, just new users who buy this SE thermostat

No, existing users will not have to pay but it's not very clear for the new users that they will have to pay - it doesn't even say how much and if it's a monthly payment or not. Since the Special Edition looks exactly the same as the Standard one, it should be explicitly said what is the difference between the kits.

Hope you're right @nuttyphilt
I asked them on Twitter and they said this is a cheaper version with fewer features and you can pay monthly to get the rest of the features. Or you can buy the v3 version and get the full features in the app without any monthly payments. Its not really a £50 discount if you're getting less for it, they really need to put that on the site.
