No radiator deals ??
Their twitter account people did promise me that there would be some decent deals on the radiator valves in the next few weeks.
Fingers crossed. I think last summer they went down to £35 each, but I didn't have the system then
Had my thermostat delivered last week but yet to fit it.

Not certain if really need this (but it would probably be better than having the wired thermostat at top of staircase where original one always has been. Anyone know if those unidays 20% off codes can be used twice on same account?
Don’t forget UNiDAYS 20% as well
Excellent deal! I was ready to buy it for £72 with my staff discount scheme for Apple and have never seen it less than this! Thanks

I've already been told by Tado that it should be compatible (without extension). I'm more thinking whether its worth it just for sake of relocating the main thermostat....instead of being at the top of the stairs where the temp doesn't reflect the main room....to then putting it in the main room.

However, I'm also thinking the extension may be a pointless purchase if I'm purchasing a (few) TRV anyway (at some point when they're discounted)
How’s this work?

i have 2 hard wired thermostats. One up one down and a combo boiler.

i purchased 2 tados in the last deal. But Havnt set them up yet (actually had good weather so not needed too)

will this allow me to set up them without removing the old thermostats? As the one upstairs is in my daughters room (old master bedroom before the extension) and I’d prefer it in the new master bedroom.

if so. Can I just rip the existing 2 of the wall and fill in the holes as I won’t need the wiring
Been waiting for a deal on the Tado extension, ordered. Thank you OP.

Great find, just what I've been waiting for. Thanks OP.
It would be good to know how this works. The problem I have with original kit is that thermostat is beside my boiler which is in the attic. It means I can turn off and on but that's about it. Will this let me have an additional thermostat?
Do I need this with combi boiler?

I was thinking the same when I've got the thermostat a couple of months ago. Now fitted so a bit too late for the extension kit. Our thermostat is at the bottom of the stairs, next to the door. It is really cold there. I have concluded I will set the thermostat to a lower temperature in order to have a decent temperature in the rooms. I guess I will control the room temperature with the radiator valve (non smart). It will be a matter of guessing the right temperature first until I will be able to calibrate it properly. If I would have not got the thermostat fitted already, perhaps I would have considered the extension kit, now I am glad I don't need it, as will be more money spent.

Do you have hot water cylinder? This is perfect for it.

Unidays codes can be used for each purchase. I've used it for the Tado extension and the original full kit.

What is your set-up? Boiler, hot water cylinder?
In my setup (boiler for heating and hot water cylinder) I replaced old control unit with extension kit (controls hot water) and thermostat - with Tado thermostat (controls heating and all the system).

Worth going to Tado website and just checking what do you need in your particular case

That's my set up also. Do you have an issue with hot water only gravity feeding some upstairs radiators? ( Before and after Tado extension). If so, how is it solved?

Than get extension kit, good thing.

I have a hot water cylinder upstairs (1st floor), no issues with water flow. Anyway, Tado extension just controls heating of hot water it such setup, same as old control unit did.

I had to do it twice with different codes before it worked. Try again?
I’m having a new boiler installed, and already have the v2 from previous deal. I’m not really clued up on this, but does this enable me to use my v2 thermostat anywhere in the house rather than within wire range of boiler?

You wire the extension kit to the boiler, then the thermostat is a remote device talking wirelessly to the boiler.

Works fine here.

The code posted earlier in the thread isn't a UniDays code. The UniDays codes are unique, generated per user/visit and only redeemable once.

Well I finally figured I'd take a look at setting up my Tado that was delivered last week.

Only 2 wires in the old system. The instructions on the Tado site recognised my boiler but didn't recognise my Siemens old controller. As a result it seemed to want to send pictures etc to receive a response within 48hours, and then wouldn't allow me to go back to select a similar model to see if could find similar instructions

The only way I could proceed from that point was to go to main screen and select that it was already installed.

By a bit of trial and error I managed to figure out the right wiring to use.

My thermostat display tends to flicker quite a bit. Does everyone elses do that?

Also....the first bunch of tries, I had a down arrow on the thermostat, also sometimes a settings/tool icon and couldn't seem to get it anywhere past there.

After bit of searching (as was trying to rewire correctly initially), discovered it turned out the tool icon meant that the unit wasn't sat into the backplate fully (backplate wasn't fixed to the wall at this point either

Eventually I got it to go further by pressing it firmer in. I then was greatet with some sort of setting config screen, with R01, R02, B84, B83 and loads of other number options. No idea what to press there, but the numbers were counting down a lot, so I put it back to the first one (R01) and pressed ok a boatload of times on some additional screens, and eventually it gave me the normal screen

Anyone able to help on what the R01 etc bit I was in was all about?

Other than that - pleased I got it working at least. Not too pleased it seems to take several minutes for heating to turn on and off, regardless of whether set the temperature by the app, or on the device itself. I'd of thought the wired device would be near instant

Mines a combi boiler but the starter kit I bought from the last deal give me a hub (plugs into router) and a thermostat (sits right beside boiler.) So what I need is either the valves or an additional thermostat that can go elsewhere in house.
Can anyone pm me unidays code please?
Uni days worked after 3 different codes
Brilliant price

Btw if you have a boiler with a room thermostat which is wired you do not need the Extension Kit.

However, if you have a boiler with a wireless thermostat or no thermostat, or a hot water cylinder and you want to control the hot water, you need the Extension Kit.

You would need the Tado thermostat kit which gives you the thermostat and bridge ( hub that you plug into your router, it is not included with the extension)

Then

if you have a combi with a wired thermostat this won't benefit you and you don't need it.

But

If you have a boiler with a hot water cylinder in your home or a combi with a wireless thermostat or a boiler with no thermostat and only a programmer ...then you need this

Download Tado app

Create an account

Enter the details of your current boiler set up, make and model.

Plug the bridge into your router

Set up the connection between thermostat and bridge.

(If combi boiler, wire in the thermostat and job completed)

If not a combi

Wire in extension kit to replace your existing programmer

Make sure it connects to the thermostat

Job done

Initially my extension would not pair properly with the thermostat and bridge it drove me mental. I thought I was doing something wrong. The extension should have 1 white led which "breaths" if it blinks quickly it's not synced to the bridge or thermostat. If this happens don't worry your heating will keep working you just can control it. Call or email tado and they will push a software update to your extension and it will work straight away.

Learn from my mistakes, I thought I screwed up along the way. The guys at Tado typically just fix things first call for you. Or email is usually 1 day turn around if you can't get them on the phone

Great system though, now it's all working would highly recommend the kit and service

Can anyone that’s had their system in for a while tell me their firmware versions please for the thermostat (v2) and the bridge

my bridge is on about v 47(not accessible to check where I am right now) and think the stat is around 27 so def needs an upate

Or you can connect the extension kit to your boiler and use thermostat in wireless mode whenever is more convenient. Will cost £39,which is way cheaper that extra thermostat (which will not make much sense in your setup).
You can check eith Tado, this is one of recommended setups for situations like yours. (several thermostats will make sense in multi zone setup)

Thank you - been able to check now, my bridge is on the same 47.2, thermostat is 20.7 so def needs an update. Hopefully it will be pushed out overnight. Quite annoying the flickering lights I get from it looking like unit is faulty when used it but looks like one of the updates resolves that
Yes, the scrolling test flickered on mine at first, update did solve that
Wonder what control is needed for hot water? When taps/shower is turned on, boiler kicks in. What does this extension kit do to save on energy bill?
Sorry if it's daft question but I am not able to understand the concept of controlling hot water. I also have a hot water storage tank in my house. Thanks for any advice
any chance for a Unidays code pleeeease?
