Smart Radiator Thermostat - Starter Kit - Vertical Mounting

Introducing our new Smart Radiator Thermostats: More comfort, better control and platform connectivity.

You don’t have your own boiler but have radiators?

With our new multi-room control you can save even more on your heating costs and make life more comfortable. The intuitive interface of the Smart Radiator Thermostats and the new Smart Schedules in the app make control of your heating even easier.

If you already have a Smart Thermostat - Starter Kit including the Internet Bridge, then you only need Smart Radiator Thermostats, not the Smart Radiator Thermostat - Starter Kit.

What´s in the Box?

2 Smart Radiator Thermostats, Internet Bridge, USB cable, connectors, ethernet cable, 2x 2 AA batteries, 3 different adapters per thermostat.

Integrations
The new product suite offers several integration possibilities, such as Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Echo, and IFTTT.
Make tado° part of your connected home and create scenes with Apple HomeKit. Use Siri, Google Assistant or Amazon Echo to voice control your heating and create Applets with IFTTT to connect with other applications and smart devices.

Setup
Heating control with the Smart Radiator Thermostat - Starter Kit
The included Internet Bridge connects via the router to the internet. The Smart Radiator Thermostats communicate by radio with the Internet Bridge.

Features
Geolocation control:
tado° uses your phone’s location to control your heating. It saves when everyone is away and pre-heats when it detects the first person returning home.

More control:
tado° lets you know how warm your home is, when the heating is on and gives you control from wherever you are.

Save money:
tado° saves energy and heating costs.

Report overview:
The report shows you your home temperature throughout the day and when your heating was on.

Inclusion of weather forecasts:
tado° automatically adapts your heating to the current weather in order to heat most efficiently.

Effortless:
Easy to install, intuitive to use and fully automatic. tado° adjusts the heating to fit your lifestyle.

Incorporates building characteristics:
Every house is different, tado° gets to know your home to optimise your heating.

Flexible use:
tado° adapts to your preferences: using automated location-based heating, schedules or manual control.

Control from anywhere:
Full access from anywhere and anytime via smartphone, tablet or computer.

Compatibility
Smart Radiator Thermostats:
Work with both your own boiler and with district heating.

Smart Thermostat + Smart Radiator Thermostats:
If you have your own boiler, we recommend using the Smart Thermostat for central control in addition to individual radiator control. This will save even more energy.

Self install
It’s easy to install the Smart Radiator Thermostat - Starter Kit yourself. Simply unscrew the old radiator thermostat and install the Smart Radiator Thermostat with the help of one of the included adapters. Don’t worry, water can not leak during installation.

Couldn't agree more, last thing I need is someone hacking in and putting my heating on....the Mrs is bad enough

Thanks. Ordered a set. I really need only the radiator valves but they retail around £59 a piece everywhere. At least with the kit i will have now a spare bridge.

Not sure if you mean that the tado products are insecure or smart devices in general. If the later, then i'm afraid the only way to avoid the security issues would be to go "off the grid" which in today's world is pretty difficult. There no such thing as secure devices. Only devices that have not been hacked yet..

Hackers don't care about turning your heating on. They care about having swarms of hosts to attack other sites, like denial of service or bots to try hack other companies without being traced. Whilst in your home they also might just want to snoop on your internet behaviours to then use social engineering attack vectors to get your money.

Strip out the metal, melt it down and make some tinfoil hats.

Not really sure...just keep it as a spare in case the one i have now fails. Or could use it as a separate setup with the valves in the future if we move houses. Basically i'll keep it in the box for now .

A smart radiator valve would have enough grunt to do that stuff?!

Nice one!

I purchased the O2 v2 thermostat deal and am going to purchase these as they come with the v3 bridge which would turn setup into a cut price v3!

For those who do not need a bridge, the cut price quattro (4) pack deal is still live and slightly cheaper even though it was expired and the tado people seem to not know about any bulk pack deals when asked over the phone! Don't worry, I didn't squeal... Tado rep also said a promotion is coming up in September so might be worth holding for if not in a rush.

I am ordering this Amazon (same price but out of stock atm) as being out of stock at the works in my favour in that it locks in price and leaves me free to wait for other offers. Also, I have expiring £20 amazon promotional credit from Prime Day gift card and Paypoint top-up offers making item £89 for me!
