How tado° controls your heating
The Smart Thermostat and the Smart Radiator Thermostats connect to the internet and control your heating system or radiators.
Location-based control - The tado° Smart Thermostat automatically turns down your heating when the last person leaves home and begins to warm up again when it detects the first person returning.
The tado° app - With the tado° app on the residents’ smartphones, tado° detects how far they are away from home and sets the temperature accordingly. You can also manually control your heating.

Integrations
The new product suite offers several integration possibilities, such as Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Echo, and IFTTT.
Make tado° part of your connected home and create scenes with Apple HomeKit. Use Siri, Google Assistant or Amazon Echo to voice control your heating and create Applets with IFTTT to connect with other applications and smart devices.

Thermostat
The Smart Thermostat can be automatically controlled via the location of your smartphone as well as manually, by schedule or on the device itself.
LED matrix display - shows current temperature and settings
Touch arrows - to manually change the temperature and other settings
Button - to activate the display, scroll through the settings and make changes

Setup - Control your heating with the Smart Thermostat
The Internet Bridge connects to the internet via your router. The Smart Thermostat and the Internet Bridge communicate via radio.

it s a very good pack for a medium size house if you get the radiator valves as well.. otherwise is similar to any other wireless thermostat...
Is this the latest version?

are they releasing a newer version soon?
i think you need to buy an extension kit to be able to use it with Amazon Echo or Google assistant etc... That means it will come to £218. more expensive then Nest and Hive.

Hi, Thats not true, this comes with the internet bridge which allows it to connect to other systems, most importantly for Apple users is that these are Apple Homekit compatible and they work brilliantly in my 'connected' home.
For this price its a steal and I would definitely recommend, they even guarantee to save you money or will give you your money back.

I am so confused, i remember i asked Tado's customer service about a month ago. They sent me a link to check what i need to replace my existing system as at the moment, i am using a Wireless thermostat. It came out i will have to buy the extension kit too.

Will the internet bridge works with Alexa and no need to buy the extension kit?

That is only the case if you do not have a wired room thermostat. You can replace a wired room thermostat with this kit alone and you only need the extension kit if you wish to use it wirelessly.

Or if you have a separate hot water cylinder, which you want to control as well. (was £47 recently)

It is a current version. Since controls are mostly in the app, don't think they will be replacing thermostat or bridge anytime soon.

I do not have a wired room thermostat, just wireless one when moved in.

Since your thermostat is wireless you would need the extension kit.

Can not see how you can control a combi boiler hot water as it just outputs at a pre set temperature, different for systems with separate tank and heater were a thermostat control would be controlable remotly, might be wrong though?
If it's wireless your after you need the extension kit. You can only have one wireless thermostat if you need multiple zones (2 thermostats). I liked the look of tado but ruled it out as I have 2 wireless thermostats currently

This used to be true but not any more - you can have one thermostat in each zone, and a single extension kit connected to the boiler.

Another thing not often mentioned is that for anyone with a Worcester Bosch boiler the Tado system is compatible with their 'EMS' protocol, meaning it supports load compensation - this adjusts the boiler output to maintain a more even temperature than the on/off of a traditional thermostat. I don't think Nest or Hive support this (there's now an 'OpenTherm' protocol which is similar but not supported by Worcester).

I installed a Tado system a few weeks ago and it's been great - we're probably not saving money as we wanted it for convenience more than efficiency, but the app is excellent and suits our very variable working hours.

I think he just meant that it can also control hot water if needed but you wouldn't need that function for a combi. He'll need it since he has a wireless thermostat but not for smart home control.
My gas bills have just gone downwards since I got tado in 2014. It's the geolocation that does it. I got version 1, they released version 2 shortly afterwards which is a bit annoying as I'd have liked a proper room thermostat rather than the solar panel thermometer.
If anyone's thinking about getting into the multi zone heating with the radiator thermostats, picking up the other starter kit and a separate room thermostat might be better value.
I have dual zoned wired tado thermostats with 3 radiator thermostats too. I have v2 which works fine with Alexa and obviously the Tado App and WebUI. I would like the v3 bridge for Siri but Alex does what I need it too. “Alexa set living room to 19 degrees”.
can't recommend this enough, the location tracking works so well, house is always warm when we get home and switches off as soon as we leave. The other thing that I like is how well it maintains a constant temperature by pulsing the heating, we went from an old dial thermostat which fluctuated temperature so badly, app is really well made with regular updates

Hi. I have been looking at getting this system, if my children have the app for geofencing reasons, are each able to alter the controls, timings, temperature etc or would I have the ‘master control’? Thanks in advance

Yes your kids would. There isn’t any user restrictions on accounts as far as I’m aware
bought this earlier today, came here to post but you beat me to it. They have great support, if you are unsure what you need you can send them a support ticket with the model of your boiler and they send you what you need in a personalised basket link. I have had to pick up the extension kit as well as i have no thermostat in my new house (£47 on amazon, says 1-2 months wait but is due for delivery next week). I have picked up TRVs as well as i see no point heating the bedroom until late at night and would like the nursery to be a different temperature which I can do with a smart home hub. Definitely worth heavy consideration if you are interested in a smart hub, for me these guys support openTherm and have great compatibility.

To top it off if your not happy it has saved you cash within a year you can get a full refund no questions asked.

I thought it might be

I’ve had Tado for about 18 months now, initially to control my water and one floor of the house. And it’s really good. Over Christmas I bought a second Tado Thermostat to control the rest of the house.

It’s very easy to use, quick to install if you follow the instructions they give you, looks unobtrusive and can be managed from anywhere. Oh and it supports HomeKit and Alexa

Highly recommended

I got that information from tado customer services less than a month ago. Would like hear I am wrong? Can you point me to something backs this up? Thanks
ordered thank you

Are people going to start with just this or order some valves too?

Would you care to explain the 2 thermostats and single extension kit. I have a multi zone house and their helpline said I can only have one wireless and one extension kit. Other zones must then be wired thermostats.
